Had a burger and fries which sounds boring but it was amazing .... loaded with bacon, lettuce and tomato. It comes with freshly made fries and a tiny coleslaw but was very filling and it tasted home made. For $16 it was good value and with the rustic atmosphere and fireplace it was most enjoyable. Our server was friendly and... More

We walked into a few St. Jacob's main street restaurants but found Benjamin's most attractive: good value for the price, a bit more expensive than neighbours but way better. Service was friendly, interior in classy, welcoming, warm country style. Restaurant food that you do not cook every day at home. Some menu items sounded not familiar right away e.g. Turbot,... More

Dined with family in early December; warmly greeted and seated near the wonderful warm hearth in the main dining room. The atmosphere is Waterloo rustic - warm and friendly. All of us enjoyed appetizer which included salads or soups. All the mains were well prepared - beef tenderloin, steak and tuna. Service was attentive and friendly. A restaurant with an... More

I was there for dinner in a cold evening, no reservation. Got a table by the fire. Tried the duck and was just fabulous. Service was excellent as well. Its not difficult to get me as a client!

An expensive selection on menu. I had turbot which was a lump of white fish sitting on top of a white pile of mush (mashed potatoes and overcooked cauliflower), but not a trace of green or orange vegetables. Most unappetizing!

We visited this restaurant following positive reviews by other diners. Excellent service and a delicious meal.

Wife and I returned to our roots for the first time in a couple of years and again tried Benjamin's. Service was very friendly and prompt. Alas the food disappointed. My terrine was passable at best but accompanied by dried out toast that crumpled. My wire's crepes were similarly dried out. Overdone chicken with bland sauce. Perhaps chef had an... More

* Update: After our experience, we were contacted by the restaurant's manager who generously refunded the cost of our lunch. I want to thank the general manager for the gesture and apology. My group, with a young toddler, visited this restaurant for lunch because it was the only establishment without a line up. Considering the mature clientele I asked the... More

A warm welcome from our waitress who was quickly able to alter an order due to dietary needs. The rainbow trout was excellent as was the quiche of the day. However the penne and meat was awful, tough, tasteless and under cooked. Our complaint was quickly corrected with no charge being made for the dish in question and we left... More
