Better than I expected!

The Little Inn in Bayfield was our destination for lunch yesterday. First time for me, second or third for the lady. Quickly welcomed at the door and seated. Service was friendly and prompt. A glass of wine for each of us from their varied and well-priced offerings ($7-$10), then we dove into our... read more

The food is definitely pricey in the Willow Room, but it was worth it. I had the warm vichyssoise with lobster beignets, mushrooms, white asparagus and chunks of lobster. It was wonderful. I had the salmon for my main which I thoroughly enjoyed. Hubby had the scallops appetizer and the duck as his dinner. There wasn't a crumb left. Somehow... More

Our visit was shortly after the Inn reopened under new ownership, so one expects some blips that need to be sorted out. However, one does expect fairly intensive staff training to have gone on prior to opening - was not the case, from front of house right through to back of house - big mistake, perhaps reflecting new owner's lack... I mentioned our meals in my review of the Little Inn. We dined in the new Tap Room, and had a prepared-to-order breakfast in the Willow Room - the price of which is included in the room fee. Raspberry Point oysters from the East of Canada before dinner, tasting as if they has just come out of the ocean, as... More

The Little Inn has just reopened and if tonight's experience was how things are going to be, we will not be back. Service was awkward and inexperienced, it took 45 minutes after seating to have our food order taken and 3 hours to dine on a 2 course meal. A lot of waiting. Food was warm and the first course... The restaurant at the Little Inn in Bayfield has just been completely renovated. And it has only been open in its new incarnation for a few days. (It has a new name too -- The Willow Room) We stayed for three days and ate several meals -- 3 breakfasts, 2 dinners and a brunch in the restaurant. The new staff... More

we attended with a large group from work. An entire room was dedicated to us, with excellent service, good house wine and a well decorated table. We did not look at the wine list and proceeded to taste our choices of arctic char (on a mille feuille crust) , an excellent (but a bit small sized) pickerel, and a tasty... More

I had the wonderful pleasure of eating at the Little Inn in Bayfield. Inn keeping since 1832 this place has not missed anything in it's atmosphere or delivering of services. It was like walking back in time upon entering the front doors and the dining room was amazing. The food was well presented with healthy choices, from local producers. The... More

We sat at the bar and each enjoyed a wonderful glass of wine which we believed was served by the owner/manager. He engaged us in just the right amount of conversation and ensured that we were comfortable and offered seating in soft chairs in front of the fireplace as well. Upon leaving we advised how much we had enjoyed the... More
