This restaurant is one of the better Indian restaurants I've been to. It's a small restaurant run by a family. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious and the prices are very reasonable. Since the restaurant is small reservations are recommended. It's definitely worth the drive to Ajax.

My husband and I decided to visit Mount Everest Indian restaurant for date night recently. It is one of our favourite restaurants and Durham's best kept secret. Located in the heart of Pickering Village, reservations are strongly recommended as it is very popular, and the small, intimate setting makes you feel like you're part of the family. Also note that... More

This is my go to place whenever no one feels like cooking at home. I just love the butter chicken and the sizzling chicken tikka! Sorry mom, I think I like their butter chicken better - I like it sweet. I always get it mild but next time I'll get it hot. I like the friendly waitresses and the overall... More

We were looking for different take out for the evening and ordered Mount Everest for pickup. It was reasonably priced and the portions were huge, the menu had alot to offer as well but the chicken (in both dishes) was rubbery and had alot of little bones in it. There was very little white meat. All in all it seemed... More

Let me start by saying we have been to this restaurant many times over the years and loved it. In the last year it has steadily gone downhill. The service is really TERRIBLE. I dont mind waiting for food but I dont like having it thrown at me so that it spills all over the table. I also dont being... More

I got an order of butter chicken, rice, and a piece of naan for takeout from Mount Everest. Let me tell you, it was SO delicious. I have never had butter chicken before, but this is my new favorite dish. The flavours were so amazing, and the naan was delicious. The restaurant was super small and crammed, but overall a... More

Went for Sunday lunch, and the place was empty. Food was bland, and not fresh. I asked for some Bindhi as there were empty spots in the buffet. They said no problem we'll bring it out for you, and then charged me $7.95 on top of the buffet for it! Don't waste your money, go to Bombay grill where the... More

Love love love this restaurant! Do not let the decor or view from the street scare you away from coming here. Once inside, the aromas of fresh Indian cooking will win you over. We've been a number of times, and our favourite dish is the Vegetarian Platter. It's a lot of food for two people sharing...you certainly won't leave hungry.... More

Just around the corner from our home so quiet regularly we phone in our order and then pick up. We have also eaten in many times over the past ten years. Its quiet a small place but the décor is comfortable and the food quality some of the best anywhere. If you like Indian, you'll like the Mount Everest. Mr.... More

Consistently good quality lunch buffet with a reasonable choice and great price. Minor drawback is that there are too many tables jammed into a tiny space.
