Back again to this little family gem. We checked the menue and then ordered the specials. My wife ordered the trout and I the tenderloin medallions, we shared a bottle of wine and looked around at the decor which is partly a collection of food packaging with the name Castle on it. No surprise, that's the owners name, cute though!... More

I don't think one could add any more positives to the previous review by Sandra T! Couldn't agree more. We were in the New Glasgow area for one night at a B&B and found a choice of three fine dining establishments online. As we were driving toward the downtown core, this restaurant was the first one to appear, on the... More

Upscale, yet casual. The owners are a welcoming couple who take a personal interest in their customers. Phil is the chef - trained as a navy chef with expertise is all aspects of the business. His wife, Darlene, is the hostess and waitress. Tables spaced so that conversation is comfortable. Decor is modern with a local twist - hooked rug... More

This is a very small 8 table restaurant with just the chef and waitress, which happen to be the owners and husband and wife. The food was hot and good but not great.

You can easily miss this wonderful little spot as it looks like a house, but it is worth it to find it. We only knew about it from a local who recommended it. I ate there twice in August 2014 while on holiday and it was delicious both times. The décor is very east coast and very quaint. The food... More

I am so glad we decided to try West Side Bistro. The food was superb. I travel and dine out frequently with my work. West Side Bistro provided one of the best experiences that I have had in many years. I had the ham and swiss quiche with Waldorf salad. my companions, who are locals, had the tomato cheddar soup,... This place looks like a house on the side of the road on Stellarton Road. My boyfriend and I treat ourselves every few months and this really is a gem of a spot. The seating is quaint, almost like you are sitting in someone's home for supper. What really makes this spot impressive is the kitchen is run by one... More

When travelling through the east coast my boyfriend and I stopped in at the westside bistro. What a great little place! Friendly owners, awesome atmosphere, and the food....mmmmm so good! I highly recommend the seafood chowder...I might say it's the best I've ever had. And the meatloaf sandwich was so tasty! My boyfriend loved his sweet chicken wrap and home... More

We will never go back to this restaurant. Yes it has a nice atmosphere, but the food that was served was either expired or not what it was suppose to be. I ordered a lamb pot pie and it tasted goatee and I mean very goatee. You know, if you have drank goat milk in your life, when it get... More

It is very unfortunate that you feel you had a bad experience dining at West Side Bistro back in November 2013. We're sorry our venue did not meet with your expectations - nor ours. Your comment that the Lamb Pot Pie tasted "Goatee" or "Expired" leaves me unsettled. Please be assured I use only the finest fresh Spring Lamb Leg... More

I went with 3 of my friends and we all loved our Food. I have Haddock and home fries. The Haddock was very good. The whole restaurant was cozy. Felt like you were in a old style country home. Beautiful Place.
