The Real Deal

When you first look at The Sea Gull, it actually looks like an unassuming split level house on the side of the road (in fact I think it used to be) but then you notice all the cars in the parking lot and you realize it's a pretty popular spot. When you get inside you are greeted by friendly... read more

My buddy and I were in Ingonish on business and looking for a good meal. We decided to stop at the Seagull, this was not my first time. He ordered fish and chips , I ordered a club and fries. When the order arrived John was amazed, you could not get another fry on the plate and mine was the... More

This unpretentious place was one of our favourite dining experiences in Nova Scotia. The scallops we enjoyed were amongst some of the freshest we had in the Maritimes, and the homemade seafood chowder was a hearty meal in itself. Our servers were exceptionally friendly and our food came out quickly. It was fun, too, that we got to sit on... More

This is a very popular restaurant in a down home atmosphere. Service was good and the food was good with a wide assortment of dishes to chose from and prices were reasonable. We would eat there again

This place was pretty par for the course for Cape Breton seafood houses as far as menu choices. I found prices to be on the more reasonable side for non-entree choices. I had the seafood chowder, which was good but not exceptional. My husband had the fish burger which was okay, although the fries were not so great. Nice enclosed... More

We were staying in Ingonish and this place happened to be near the cottage we were staying in. We went for lunch and we were not disappointed! My husband had the chowder and he said it was one of the best chowders he has had, which says a lot since he eats it often. I had the one piece fish... More

I especially like the amazing seafood chowder with a fresh tea biscuit, and I always order the gingerbread with hot caramel sauce! The staff are friendly and welcoming, giving exceptional service. I recommend it highly.

this restaurant has the best chowder I've ever tasted, I've eaten chowder in PEI and NS, this by far is the best, lots of seafood, good size chunks of potato, creamy but not too rich. You can't go wrong ordering anything at the Seagull, lobster clubs, turkey sandwiches, mozza sticks, fish and chips all homemade , fresh and hot. Just like... More

I especially like the seafood chowder, the lobster club (packed with lobster meat) and the grilled haddock with spinach salad. The staff are friendly and helpful, the service is speedy and efficient and the prices are very reasonable. If I have room for dessert, I usually order my favourite: the ginger cake with hot caramel sauce (happiness in a dish!).... More
