Le Gabriel was recommended by the proprietor of Merry's motel and we were not disappointed. It is a large family-style restaurant but it is divided into sections which make it more intimate, and the food was very good. It is obviously very popular with the locals with many of the diners being regulars. The food and service was very good,... More

We had a wonderful meal here. My wife had a 2 1/2 pound lobster dinner and it was the best lobster she ever had, and she loves lobster. I had a meat pie special that was also terrific. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I wish I could have taken them with us and trained the wait staff... More

It was a bit crowded when we were there, but service was fairly quick. Food was average. Fairly quiet considering it was fairly full. Mite be better in town, but was recommended by our motel.

I had half a lobster roll and half a snow crab roll which were the best I have ever eaten. The seafood chowder was delicious and the wait staff friendly and attentive.

Service was great and food quite good. Music was loud and not good .Lots of room for patrons in bar area or off to the side in a quieter area.

Though Cheticamp is some distance from the main tourist destinations in Cape Breton it's worth a visit both for its Acadian French charm and for this restaurant. The seafood stir fry and the bacon and scallop starter are to die for - but so, no doubt are all the other lovely dishes on offer. The desserts consist of enormous slices... More

The place is quite nice, especially its bar. We were lucky thank we could enjoy great atmosphere of life music in there. Food is not more than average but location and price are fine. Staff was quick and smiling.

Great menu. Had the seafood stir fry. Bit skimpy with the crab, otherwise great meal. Friendly service.

Great place to stop for a meal! Home made style cooking and generous portions. Desserts looked awesome though I didn't order any as they give you oatcakes with the roll basket and those oatcakes were delicious! Staff were very friendly, service was great, no long waits for food. Would recommend a visit!
