We ate here twice and were not disappointed either time. Food was excellent and our server was extremely friendly.

Their seafood chowder is excellent but we've really enjoyed everything we've tried (3 visits to Cape Breton so far and every time we make a point to stop here). The wait staff are friendly and helpful and you can dine with a view both inside and out. Highly recommend this place!

what a sweet little place. nothing fancy - just good food in a comfie atmosphere. they had great fish and chips. in addition, they make a mean chicken caesar salad - bacon is a nice addition.

Stopped at sunset on an unplanned drive, and not only had wonderful fresh lobster and crab, but also received friendly assistance to help us find accommodations that night. Cindy called around for us to check if any local hotels had vacancies, and recommended the newly opened Cornerstone Motel, which was beautiful, clean and quiet by the park.

Thanks for your kind words and we are very fortunate to be in a location where the sun sets directly across from our patio in the summer months. We have great staff ready to help in any situation as well! Hope to see you again soon! Michele More

Our host at our B&B recommended the pan-fried cod here, and it was wonderful. Fresh, most, delicately textured, with a perfect light batter. We had four large pieces with cole slaw and baked potato for $15.

We visited the Canadian Atlantic Provinces in June and July of this year. Being from South Louisiana, it was sometimes difficult to find a restaurant with food as good as we are used to. Hometown Kitchen was the first really good, well-seasoned fresh food we discovered on our trip! From the Lobster Dip to the coffee, we LOVED it. Excellent... More

We could not be torn away from the snow crab dinner and warm welcoming service from the staff at Hometown, especially Noah! This was a wonderful informal place to unwind on the harbour over great beers and seafood (great trout) after long days on the Cabot Trail.

There were many cars parked outside the restaurant so we drove in; I was relieved to see the TripAdvisor sticker (for excellence?) on the door and thought we were in good hands but um, well, we had to wait 30 mins for the drink and 45 mins for the meals. I had clams & chips; the clams were fine but... More

We were travelling around the Cabot Trail and stopped for Sunday brunch. Fabulous chowder and fish and chips! Pan fried to perfection and all hand cut fish and fries. Topped it off with the best butterscotch pie on the island. Scenery was beautiful, and the service was friendly, and efficient. Over all our visit was great. I highly recommend it!

My family recently ate here for breakfast on a whim, and I'm glad we did. Not many places are open at 9am on a Sunday in Cheticamp to sit down and eat and out of the options available we chose the Hometown Kitchen. My family (my fiancé, our two boys and myself) were greeted promptly and chose to sit in... More
