Truly A Frog Pond

This is a really down to earth local outside cafe. The bakery treats are varied and awesome and you can sit beside the pond and enjoy them. Not pretentious at all.

After a long hike in Cape Breton National park, I was really hankering for a good cup of coffee. Fortunately, this nice little take out cafe makes an excellent Americano coffee, amongst others, and was open on a Sunday. They also offer some nice locally made pastries. Friendly owner, and awesome coffee!

This place was a bid surprise. A must stop for anyone on The Trail. The homemade treats were delicious, service was excellent and the local arts and crafts were fun to browse.

The whimsical setting with the art gallery and colorful decorations outdoors are just fun! We ate breakfast there and had the most wonderful chocolate hazelnut rolls. The selection of french pastries was amazing and unusual like pastries made with artichokes and cheese or with wild mushrooms. Enjoyed eating outdoors too. Well worth a stop for something different and delicous!

A great spot to stop for a cup of coffee, look at some local art and eat locally made pastries. Our daughter loved drinking her hot chocolate as she counted the frogs in the frog pond!

This review is mainly just to say that I went here every day while we stayed at a nearby cottage and the reason was - they have superb coffee. Tried the muffins, good, and croissants, nice, but the coffee was the best I had during a two week trip around the Maritimes. I will say that you might have to... More

The latte and ambiance was great! The baked goods were okay not great, as they were tasty but not overly fresh or fluffy. Went back both days while in town for latte (and try a new treat ;). Aucoin's is a better bakery.

I recently stopped in at this café for a bite to eat and a coffee, and was delighted by the ambience. The café has a lovely setting, and both indoor and outdoor seating. Both are attached to the gallery, which sells delightful folk art. The day we were there, both owners/artists were on premise, and both happy to talk about... More

This charming cafe is located right beside the Sunset Gallery - you can browse and then enjoy a snack on their deck - what a great combination - well worth the trip!
