The baked goods by Myron Syms are to die for. The setting is relaxed country; environmentally gifted with the odd musician dropping in to play for the clients. Claudia makes a fantastic beverage of which she has many to choose from and the atmosphere is always conducive for conversation.

My yearly trips to Cheticamp, on the west coast of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, are not complete without a daily stop at the Frog Pond Cafe. The savory and sweet pastries baked by Myron Syms are as integral to the place as the atmosphere and setting that attracts musicians; Buddhists from the nearby monastery; travelers to the nearby Cape Breton Highlands... A unique combination of folk art gallery, with works by the famous local artist, Willie Roach, combined with a fabulous little cafe. The cafe has scrumptious, home made pastries and great bread. And as a bonus, sometimes there is music by local musicians, saw a great fiddler a few weeks ago. The atmosphere is warm and very welcoming, we were... More

We dropped in for a quick visit on our way back from the Highlands and we stayed for more than an hour! Such a lovely spot with a warm welcome for all visitors. Be sure to visit the gallery that is curated with all local artwork, including the renowned William Roach! If you're lucky you might catch a glimpse of... More

Good coffee and friendly staff. Had fun with the children spotting the frogs in the pond. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Super friendly people, very cool atmosphere, delicious coffee and baked goods! As West Coast coffee lovers, we were SO delighted to find espresso on the Cabot Trail and it lived up to our hopes. We went every day during our stay in Cheticamp.

We spent a wonderful Sunday morning sitting on the deck drinking the best coffee and enjoying amazing croissants. The atmosphere was great, but the lines were a little long waiting for the waitress to make lattes and other fancy drinks. This is a must in the Cheticamp area!!!!

I learned about Frog Pond Cafe on Trip Advisor. We stopped there twice after long days of hiking in the Cape Breton Highlands National park. I had the best latte there of any place that we tried on the island and the Frog Pond giant cookie was the best! Fun, funky atmosphere with the bullfrogs croaking in the background. Loved... More
