We stopped three separate times to eat the lobster sandwich here. Great pastry, coffee too. Wi- fi and newspapers, an outdoor deck looking at the water across the street. Musician entertaining once too. Find it!

I absolutely love The Herring Choker. The atmosphere is wonderful with a beautiful view of the Bras D'or lake. You can watch while your food is prepared. There is a great assortment of home made bread and sweets. I had their vegetable wrap and I can truly say that is was the best sandwich that I have ever had. Their... More

Stopped here twice to pick up lunch; once for the Cabot Trail & once for our way home. Gave us an ice pack to keep our sandwiches fresh till lunch. Delicious sandwiches and fabulous blueberry scones the size of a lumberjack's hand (or perhaps a "herring-choker's = fisherman's hand)!

I got takeout sandwiches twice while in Baddeck. It was a little way out of town, but worth the drive. I got some good lunches there and the folks behind the counter seemed to care about what they were doing.

We stopped by for lunch recently and both ordered lobster sandwiches and the soup of the day. Both were excellent! I think the lobster sandwich was one of the best I've eaten - loaded with meat and not smothered in mayo! The coffee shop atmosphere was great, with a back room in which there were books and used clothing for... More

Stopped in here on our way to Maine from Nova Scotia. Lobster sandwich was stuffed with lots of lobster meat. Fresh oatmeal bread was still warm. Two bakery goodies, one was a date bar, the other chocolate and chewy were heavenly.

Good fresh produce, freshly prepared sandwiches with bread baked on site is hard to beat. The cheeses are pricey but excellent.
