We had arrived into town, and wandered in as walk-in. Fortunately we just missed the tour bus crowd that was just finishing, so were able to be seated immediately. Fabulous menu and some tough choices to make. The service was great ... attentive but not obtrusive. The halibut was excellent. My favourite, the pumpkin cheesecake ... to die for! Not... More

At the Telegraph House we had the finest meal of a week in Cape Breton. The appetizer menu alone is worth the visit, with the halibut tartare to die for. Everything on the menu looked delicious, and our server explained each in detail. Ant the desserts! Pumpkin cheesecake both light and rich, with a drizzle of maple syrup. This is... More

We drove to Baddeck on Sunday evening of the Can Thanksgiving weekend for dinner. I had known this as a prime place to dine, this was reinforced by a bold sidewalk sign offering Thanksgiving dinner for walkins, and a departing couple who offered praise for the food they had just enjoyed. Upon presenting ourselves, the host declared seating would take... More

We were stunned at the high level cuisine we found here. This restaurant serves delicious food; had the halibut and an excellent salad. Top notch seasonal, organic, local food. The service was also wonderful. We would definitely go back.

Not sure when we first arrived as outside could do with a bit of a paint however need not have worried . Quaint heritage environment inside , maybe soundproofing could be better , but comfy and clean. Owner helpful and attentive - wished we had eaten in the restaurant as the menu looked interesting.

It was our last night in Cape Breton and we were in desperate need of some food that wasn't fried! We had no idea what we were about to experience at this place! The entire menu is seasonal, organic, local AND gluten free. For the first time in ages my husband and I actually had difficulty choosing from the menu... More

We were very impressed by the menu and the atmosphere. Food was delicious with a great variance. Also listed whether the food was local. Had a large gluten free selection.

We were on a Globus tour of the Maritime Provinces of Canada. We had a night to pick our restaurant for dinner, just wandered in, made a reservation for the following night. Had the fish stew and was amazed at how good it was. Can not say it any better than that.

The chef is clearly creative - the menu offers a great deal of variety and plates were interesting and appealing. Unfortunately, the output from the kitchen was not consistent. My pumpkin soup was superb; my polenta in the next course was inedible. It was replaced with a dish prepared by the chef, which was fine. Seems the chef may be... More
