We are staying at the Telegraph House and after seeing the menu decided to eat here. We were not disappointed! I had lobster risotto that had pieces of lobster meat in the risotto and was topped with a whole lobster tail, it was scrumptious. My husband's roast beef was also excellent and he is very particular. We split the Eton's... More

I was in Baddeck on business overnight. I walked around town and decided to stop here for supper. The menu posted outside was enticing. I was not disappointed. The staff were and food were so amazing. The entire menu is gluten free and local food. I recommend the sticky toffee pudidng, perhaps the best I've ever had.

When walking around in Baddeck we had a look at the menu outside and decided to give this restaurant a try and made a reservation for that evening. This turned out to be a good decision as the restaurant was fully booked when we arrived at the agreed time. We were brought to a nice table in the bright extension.... More

You have to try this!! If you are on the Cabot Trail and want to remember a meal worth talking about, go here. The Chef is friendly and colourful and the ingredients he even grows and picks himself. I heard him singing and laughing in the kitchen. The staff love their job and their guests. I have never had scallops... More

Chef George Smith has proven that even in a small community fresh local produce can dominate the menu and be presented with great ingenuity. Be sure to have a dish that is served with greens as they are always very fresh and are served 'straight out of the garden'. Note: if you are looking for a boiled lobster, hearty seafood... More

The newly "re-imagined" Cable Room at the Telegraph House and Motel is an absolute delight. The Chef is relatively new to the restaurant, and we didn't know what to expect when we dropped in to the Cable Room for dinner, but all I can say is "WOW". White tablecloths and fine china set the stage for the meal to follow.... More

We had perfectly cooked lambchops from a local farm, and salad and vegetables were fresh and delicious. Pleasant atmosphere and excellent, friendly service.

Good location but it's dated. Our unit a cottage was very clean inside but the chairs on the deck had rust on the back and everything needs a coat of paint. This would be a wonderful place when it's had a full renovation.

We went to the Telegraph House for dinner based on the recommendation of our B&B landlady and having read the menu which, if a little pretentious, seemed to offer a number of interesting choices. if only the food had lived up to the way it was described in that menu it would no doubt have been a delightful meal. Unfortunately... More

Well, they pride themselves on being gluten free and I'm not sure why that is a selling point. I'd rather hear "local". Anyway, basic dishes, not much food and very bland. My haddock in parchment didn't have any seasoning. Hard to believe. My husband had filet and scallops and although the meat was cooked perfectly for him, his meal was... More
