Average food

The food was average fare. Our waiter, a young male, seemed indifferent and not too happy to be working that day. He never even offered to refill our water glasses. Probably there are better places to choose.

We met a couple on a hiking trail and they recommended we go to Baddeck and eat at Bell-Buoy's. We took their advise and were so glad we did. The lobster sandwich and seafood chowder were delicious! We very seldom have dessert, but when we heard homemade wild blueberry pie with homemade vanilla ice cream, we couldn't resist. After several... More

Chowder was yummy, probably 8/10, kid's pasta was about a 5/10, and the other meals were again, 8/10. Gets really really busy inside, but outside is usually less busy.

We ate here two times and had dresser on another occasion. My husband had the fish and asked them to grill it for him. The waiter was very good. He remembered that my husband had stomach problems and couldn't tolerate a lot of grease. So the next day when my husband ordered a hamburger, he had the chef pat any... More

High humidity outside but an outsize welcome inside. As you might expect seafood figures large on the menu. My chowder was outstanding.

We were hungry and anxious for some seafood so went to the Bell Buoy without preconceived recommendations but from all appearances (place was busy at lunchtime) we were optimistic we had made a good choice. We were somewhat disappointed with the disinterested service however the real deal breaker was the menu... or was it the servers misinterpretation of the the... More

Hubby had chowder and biscuits... was to die for... we shared crab cakes.. fantastic as well and lobster stuffed mushrooms. .. the mushrooms were a little tasteless but squeeze on lemon and it was good. The biscuits were superb. Good lunch.. expensive but good.

Was a very fun and informative experience. Lots to see and do. Worth the drive and the price. Great for all ages.

The Bluenose Chowder was one of the best seafood chowders I have ever tasted! I could barely get my spoon in the bowl, there was so much fish! The lobster sandwich on homemade bread was also delicious!

We have a picture on our wall at home of the two of us at this restaurant when we visited during our honeymoon 10 years ago. We were reliving our memories, and our meal was as enjoyable as we remembered: fresh tea biscuits, a lovely seafood meal and of course their warm gingerbread dessert.
