Good lobster, great mussels in an informal atmosphere

The lobster we had was very good, but not the best we have had. But the mussels were wonderful. You have unlimited access to soft drinks, mussels, salad, rolls, and dessert. The place is very efficient and you pay, including tip, before you get any food. Don't like that process. Efficiency also... read more

I had never tasted lobster and I have to be honest it was amazing. Again the atmosphere is brilliant as in most places in Cape Breton. For me it is never a holiday, it is an adventure.

Best chowder I've ever had. Snow crab was delicious - and lots of it. Fragrant, moist gingerbread too. Excellent service, yet casual, comfortable setting. Short wait - and worth it. I will definitely go back.

The meal was wonderful and would definitely go back. We will be telling everyone to go there if they can. Worth the price we paid. Can't think of one negative thing to say.

A basic local spot which features the freshest seafood. Dinner included a large bucket of some of the best mussels I've had. Wife ordered Snow Crab as a "main course". Having had too many frozen Snow Crabs in the past I selected the fresh Lobster. After tasting her fresh Snow Crab I became a convert!

Excellent! Great food and service! Have the strawberry rhubarb cobbler for dessert. Its delicious. Try the mussels, I tried them for the first time. They are not bad.

This was our first meal in Baddeck and we enjoyed the informal atmosphere and very good seafood. The meal included seafood chowder, assorted side dishes, excellent mussels, and a good lobster with dessert included. Our waiter, who was the son of the owner was friendly and chatted about where the seafood came from. We enjoyed the dinner and thought it... More

We've been here before, great food then and yesterday the new all you can eat came in handy for my love of mussels. Atmosphere could use an update but the food and service was perfect .

We read in our tour guide book that this place was overrated but we wanted to give it a try anyway. No regrets, that's for sure! We had endless mussels, lobster, salmon, chowder and all the works. Great food and amazing home-made desserts as well. This was our best dinner during our entire 2 week stay in Nova Scotia!

Our experience of this matched one review recently who said don't go and we wished we had not! Having to pay up front is unusual and an indication in hindsight of insecurity by the proprietors in terms the quality of what is offered. The environment is no frills and that is ok if you serve simple food done well! This... More
