Nice evening meal

We ended up having dinner here as there wasn't much else open in town that evening it seemed. The building had a beautiful old feel to it, although the dining area was very full and felt it. Our server was very attentive which was lovely and we had a nice enough meal. There was nothing super... read more

We stayed at the Lynwood Inn, so this was the most convenient place for us to have breakfast. The eggs benedict was especially good. We also ate dinner here twice. I had the stir fry with different sauces and meat. The Thai sauce was quite spicy. My husband had the turkey dinner one night and said it was the best... More

We visited this Inn during our visit to Baddeck. Unfortunately it was the last night of the season, but the staff were very friendly and even without a reservation we were seated quickly without queueing. The Restaurant was very busy, but we were served quickly and the food was excellent! and plentiful. In summer I suspect you would need to... More

The Lynwood Inn is in a very nice l.looking 1860s Victorian house, which contains two separate dining room areas on the ground floor, and operates both as an inn for overnight guests as well as the resturant. There is an adjacent modern hotel constructed and painted to look much like the original house.Furnishings in the two dining areas are delightful,... More

Attracted by the exterior, my wife and I tried the Lynwood Inn for dinner. I had the French onion soup and mussels. The soup was very salty and was inedible. The mussels were apparently re-heated in a microwave since some of them were cold and others warm.

Definitely the feel of fine dining. Small formal dining room. Often have live music. It was perfect for a get away from the crowds meal. Food was good. We did not stay at the Inn. Seemed like most diners did.

The wait staff seemed poorly trained and disorganized for the small size of the dining room. Chasing servers for water or clearing empty dishes should not be necessary for any diner. The food was mediocre and bland at best with a heavy emphasis on being OVERCOOKED. The steamed mussels had shrunk to half normal size and had lost the texture... More

Walked in for dinner without having spent too much time looking around Baddeck and would not do it again. Haddock dish featured a piece of fish that had an odd dark color and mushy consistency. The plate of mussels had many broken shells, while the broth was mostly water and salt. Stained placemats. The two of us were seated at... More

I had the chicken breast stuffed with rice which was pretty poor. When we told the lady who took our payment, she agreed with me and said that she'd had the chicken previously and it wasn't very good! Kind of says it all, doesn't it?!

Very good food, but with a big delay due to a bus having just arrived. Waiter apologized but did not offer something to soothe our ire. A free drink would have been nice.
