Ski weekend with friends

The atmosphere was great, the food was good the service was lacking on the other hand, but I should say that it was our server, our first server was very accommodating and had seated us on the round table to enjoy appy's and drinks while we waited for a table that suited our group size. when we... read more

It's way overpriced for what you get. If you want to pay for atmosphere and not food, eat here. The food was so lacking in flavor. Just because you're a restaurant in a small town doesn't mean you should rip people off. At least the servers were nice

The staff here makes me feel at home! I moved to Smithers from a big city, and the people here make me happy! I love being part of the local crowd, and I love the family atmosphere! I will continue to be a great customer, because they take care of me.

Only go here for the Beer, great selection. Food not so good, had the potatoes skins and they were burnt, the mushroom caps were soggy, not sure how that works. Beer was great, lots of selection. Service was acceptable.

I've eaten here a few times, and never been "wowed', but last week I really was. The service was great - they let me sample the wine first because I wasn't sure if I'd like it, and although I ordered a simple dish (chicken fingers and fries), the garlic honey mustard dip was delicious, the wine was good, the dessert... I ate at the Alpenhorn four times last month (November) and it was fantastic. Large beer selection and a good scotch and wine selection as well. Friendly staff and good vibes makes this a must visit after a day fishing or on the slopes. The wings and fish & chips are my picks pretty much every visit. They also have... More

It was very busy when we walked in and no one at the door but we were acknowledged and welcomed in with a smile from one of the busy servers. The food was great along with the friendly atmosphere. We had wings that happened to be on special, very generous portions and a delicious caesar salad. I'll definately be coming... More

Busy Friday evening. They had the schnitzel special which included a caesar salad and strudel dessert. All very good. Great service and beer. Seems to be a popular place.

Our first time at this venue, with friends from the area, and we weren't disappointed. The waitress was attentive without being overly friendly, which is often the case these days, and the food was excellent. I wouldn't normally order schnitzel but the atmosphere almost dictated that I should and I'm glad I did. Definitely another visit is required when next... More
