Alpenhorn Bistro & Bar

The food is exceptionally good but the TV's go full blast all the time. Not particularly the right atmosphere for visiting. In the summer there is outside seating which is considerably quieter & much more conducive to visiting not to mention hearing.

Ate here 3 times when I was in Smithers on a business trip. Food is above average pub style, they have a decent beer selection and the service was good. This is a nice big pub/bistro. There is a good variety of food available and it was not too noisy even while the hockey game was on. The pub is... More

We came here after a day of skiing, it took forever for the waitress to serve us. When she finally did it took forever for the beer to come. We eventually were able to order appetizers, but since it was now so close to dinner we didn't order as much. They were ok. The beer was good. Service could use... More

We had dinner here a few years ago during a stop over in Smithers and as we were there again a few days ago went back. It is still great food, some interesting menu options - definitely try their "famous salmon dip" - delicious and the potato skins were also great. Steak cooked to perfection for a main was really... Went here for dinner twice and both meals (burger and steak) were excellent. Good service and ambiance, as well. This place will continue to be my go-to eatery when in Smithers..

Love the Alpenhorn. Went all the time when I lived in Smithers. Really decent food and super nice staff. Newly renovated, lots of space and the owners are great.

Location and atmosphere were good. The steak was not cook to the requested medium rare and the Fish & Chip was too salty. The beer was good and we had a good time.

I had such a dope experience at this spot. I asked the waitress to change up the pasta a little and they were more than happy to do so. The mushrooms are super dope. I can't even tell you guys how dope they are. Actually I can, they are dope but not as dope as the chorizo pasta. You get... More

Same as the title. Ate there 2x during 2 day stay. Interesting menu, fresh food, good service. Locals said it is inconsistent at times but I only ate there twice and it was fine.
