Good old fashioned local cafe

Our first stop as we arrived in Port McNeill, we had a good lunch and free wifi. The food was good, the staff friendly, service prompt and parking was easy. It is very popular with the residents of Port McNeill and is right in the centre of town.

My husband and I were in the Hotel up the street from this café, we only went for breakfast as it was recommended from the Hotel Staff. It was pretty good, the eggs benny was good, the sauce yummy. My husband had the omelet said was tasty. But what stands out is the waitress there, she is so nice I... More

We met with a friend for lunch a few weeks ago and it was great. Two of us had the chicken quesadilla with onion rings on the side and were amazed at the huge portions. The quesadilla would have been enough on it's own but I can't resist deep fried onion rings and they were stacked on the side. Our... More

We had a delicious lunch here. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Meal was served quick and tasted homemade. Definitely a place to stop for food or a coffee.

Visited for coffee while waiting to check in for our whale watching tour. Young man who served us provided no greeting, just stared at us until we ordered. After ordering he simply walked away and started making coffee with no comment that it was table service and we could seat ourselves and pay after. Coffee average, hot chocolate was a... More

Stopped in for lunch as it seemed to be a popular local spot. Orderd the special, bean and bacon soup with bannock. Bannock was very good...but the soup was terrible. Basically it was boiled bacon to make the broth ..with the strips of heavily fatted, little meat bacon left in...and one, only one, small red kidney bean to be found.... More

I was here while waiting for the bus back to Victoria. The staff were wonderful, and I had a great breakfast! They were friendly about me taking my time, and happy to wrap up a sandwich to go before I left. I'd visit it when you're in town.

Loved this little place. Waitresses are nice and it is a charming place to go for a casual dinner. They make great Mexican food.

Tia's had only been open a while, and is still in the growing stages. Good Mexican and Canadian food: lots of it. Limited menu for someone who is "gluten free" or a Celiac. The only draw back, is that it doesn't stay open for dinners right now, closes at 530. Come on Summer when it will stay open longer.

Went here for lunch - had a great lunch and the service was pleasant and timely. Nice, friendly small town atmosphere - the place appeared to be full of local residents as they all knew one another. Will be back again during my stay in Port McNeil.
