Description: The restaurant has a central location on the pedestrian promenade...
The restaurant has a central location on the pedestrian promenade overlooking of the sea /within 2 minutes walking from the well known hotel "Admiral". Restaurant "The Old House" combines authentic Bulgarian atmosphere of a traditional house with a beautiful patio where fresh organic vegetables, herbs and flowers are grown. There are many places for outdoor seating around a landscaped courtyard. Inside the venue there is a large dining space furnished with traditional wooden furniture. On the other side of the house there is a spacious terrace with beautiful sea views. The restaurant serves up the most traditional Bulgarian dishes prepared according to old recipes - traditional sac platters, various stews and dishes in clay pots /kavarma, kapama and others/, tasty appetizer dips/as Aubergine sauce (kiopolu) and tomato chutney (liutenitsa)/, homemade bread, grilled meats and refreshing salads. Every evening a whole lamb/pork and chicken/ is roasted on a spit on fire the so called Cheverme /one of the trademarks of the Bulgarian cuisine/. The above delicacies are usually consumed with a glass of good wine. The Bulgarian wines are famous for their superb taste. Another popular alcoholic beverage in the country is the rakia /made from grapes, plum, pears or other fruites/. Every evening a gypsy orchestra takes care of cheerful mood. The orchestra performs music of different styles, languages that will satisfy even the most delicate desires of the guests of the restaurant.

well center into the resort, very big and being on the beach (almost) makes it a good option for dining in.the food is average. prices slightly too high but only against what it used to be in BG before. the portions are generous. there is a little flavor to the food. yet nothing special.

Typical bulgarian cuisine. It's not gurmet restaurant, but everything that we tasted, was delicious. Recommend CHEVERME!!!! The gipsy band plays everything from Vivaldi, thru Armstrong, to etnic music. Must visit it!

I went here with my family because of friends recommendation and nice memories from the past. However this time we were presented with the worst meal we had all summer. I ordered Salmon - which is usually juicy and soft. But not here. It was rock-hard, overdone on BBQ and impossible to eat. One of my daughters ordered octopus. It... More

This restaurant is the typical example when the outlook and the food quality does not go hand in hand. The house is situated on the beach promenade, having a balcony facing the beach, made of wood mostly, beautiful exterior and interior, green plants, like tomato in front, and they have an inviting full pig roasted in the outdoor oven. The... More

We have had dinner here twice during our stay in Golden Sands. The food is quite nice comparing to few of the other places we have been to and service level is quite good. I did order a medium steak but they did not manage that, but it was quite tender anyway with a very nice pepper sause. Nice view... More
