The restaurant has a central location on the pedestrian promenade overlooking of the sea /within 2 minutes walking from the well known hotel "Admiral". Restaurant "The Old House" combines authentic Bulgarian atmosphere of a traditional house with a beautiful patio where fresh organic vegetables, herbs and flowers are grown. There are many places for outdoor seating around a landscaped courtyard. Inside the venue there is a large dining space furnished with traditional wooden furniture. On the other side of the house there is a spacious terrace with beautiful sea views. The restaurant serves up the most traditional Bulgarian dishes prepared according to old recipes - traditional sac platters, various stews and dishes in clay pots /kavarma, kapama and others/, tasty appetizer dips/as Aubergine sauce (kiopolu) and tomato chutney (liutenitsa)/, homemade bread, grilled meats and refreshing salads. Every evening a whole lamb/pork and chicken/ is roasted on a spit on fire the so called Cheverme /one of the trademarks of the Bulgarian cuisine/. The above delicacies are usually consumed with a glass of good wine. The Bulgarian wines are famous for their superb taste. Another popular alcoholic beverage in the country is the rakia /made from grapes, plum, pears or other fruites/. Every evening a gypsy orchestra takes care of cheerful mood. The orchestra performs music of different styles, languages that will satisfy even the most delicate desires of the guests of the restaurant.

Good local food

The restaurant has a beach front and a walking street front too. The food is Bulgarian styled but a good one, serves roasted lamb, pork and chicken and everything from pizza to steak. Can be crowdy. They have oldies live music, creates a good atmosphere. The services can be better. The wine... read more

With plenty of restaurants to choose from go elsewhere. Waiter forgot our food and when we complained it arrived cold. He then attempted to blame the chef. Our salad and chips never arrived although they tried to bill us for them. But didn't argue taking them off. The garlic bread finally arrive at the end our meal just as we... More

One Of the best food and also service (not common in bulgaria). Wide choise of classic bulgarian (prepared in tradicional way - for ex. Peeled peppers in salads) and international dishes (very good meat). Restaurant is very big (300+ seats) with nice terrace view over the beach and the sea.

I visited this restaurant in july 2015. They don't have basic notions of english; for example when you ask for bread they smile at you and that's it. The food is bad, prepared more like in a cantina. The place is ok only if you would have a drink. In conclusion, avoid it if you are hungry.

So this my 3rd restaurant whilst stopping in golden sands. The prices were reasonable. The view was lovely, looking over the Black Sea. We saw some Dolphins feeding. The entertainment was really good. Food was tasty enough. But don't think we will be going back in a hurry.
