Breakfast before going home

Causeway Cafe had been recommended by friends so we made this our last meal before leaving town from vacation. Definately was a good choice even with the wait time to get in. Not a large seating area but well worth the wait. We had a variety of items since it was more of a brunch time. I had a... read more

The inside of the restaurant has become run down and not extremely clean, the ceiling tiles leak and their sanitary rating was 87. We didn't see the rating until we left because it is posted on the inside of the front door. The food is ok but unless they improve on all things listed we will not go back.

As the name says, this restaurant is just off the Wrightsville Beach Island. Not much ambiance but speedy, good breakfast with a nice waitstaff. Oh, and they only take cash. People suggested the waffles and they do not disappoint.

Have been wanting to try it since we moved to the beach a couple of months ago but it was always packed. Finally went on a Monday morning and while it was busy, service was excellent and the food was awesome. All the food is made from scratch and the options seem almost endless. Portions are more than generous. Only... More

I was looking for a place for breakfast while my husband was at a conference. Small hole in the wall mom and pop restaurant. Seating inside with a small deck with people drinking coffee outside. I was seated right away and ordered 1 egg, hash browns and toast for 3.25. Typical breakfast food and a lot of people ordering pancakes.... More

Went with friends who live in the area. The building is nothing to write home about, which is typical of many breakfast hole in the walls. We did not have a wait but I would expect a wait on the weekend. All meals were average. My ham and cheese omelet was somewhat overcooked. It was served with sliced seasoned white... More

Our first time in Wrightsville Beach and also at this restaurant. We went because we found some good reviews on line. The food was nothing to write home about; the prices were fair for what you got. I had an omelet with COLD potatoes. We waited a while to get in, even on a week day. I wish we had... More

I love this place. We come every time we're in the Wilmington area. Please understand, we love local dives. The food is great, the service is friendly, the prices are very reasonable. The sanitation...did I mention it's a local dive? C'mon, live a little!

It was busy. We were seated immediately. Simple beach restaurant. Everyone was polite. The food was okay. Nothing earth shattering. Shrimp and grits are in fact...just grits with a few shrimp on top. BUT as we were leaving...the sanitation rating was a B. I have always eaten at restaurants that scored 93 or higher. We did not get sick so... More

Enjoyed a great breakfast here on our visit to Wrightsville Beach. Well worth the 55 minute wait on a Saturday morning. Would definitely return.
