After having a dismal charter fish, our group of 4 hungry men decided to go to the causeway cafe. One of the people in our group had eaten here before and told us we have to try it. Although it was 2 in the afternoon, we all ordered breakfast. 3 of us ordered the hungryman breakfast and one ordering the... More

I may have driven 45 minutes to eat these grits. The best I have ever had. My husband loves the waffles and I must agree they are pretty tasty. There can be a bit of a wait on a busy day but it is totally worth it. Anytime we are close to the beach we make a stop here! A... More

Really good shrimp and grits! After seeing some of the waffles and pancakes being served I wished I'd have had room for those as well. Lots of locals which is always a good sign, and the owner was present and engaging. Great food especially for the price!

After hearing so many good things about breakfast here, we had high expectations. Breakfast seemed adequate but nothing special. I read about people waiting to get in...all I can say is I would not wait.

Worth the wait! The menu is unbelievable. I had fried perch, scrambled eggs, cheese grits, and a biscuit, with a side of fried green tomatoes. My friends had a Blue Crab a Omelet and a Seafood Omelet. The group next to us had pancakes and they were gigantic. They have serve yourself coffee while you wait. Fun atmosphere.

It's an older building that's seen better years, but it's a Mom and Pop place and the aging ambiance sets an atmosphere that says there has to be great food inside. Absolutely right! We have been in and out of here many times over nearly 10 years and each time has been an excellent experience. The breakfasts are what it's... More

Crazy busy at times but we have not been disappointed. Not a fancy place at all but a hearty breakfast and quick, attentive service. Eggs and French toast fresh good and house coffee is pretty decent. We look forward to our visits every time we are in the area. Stopping at red ex next door is also a nice stop... More

You have to eat their grits. Out of this world. Our breakfast for four people was good. Very crowded and had to wait outside for quite a while. We like our potatoes spicy so these were kind of bland. Also didn't like getting our toast/biscuits first as they were semi cold by the time breakfast came. Tables are crowded in... More

I had a breakfast treat called eggs Neptune. It is a play on eggs Benedict using blue crab. AMAZING! Fast and efficient service. Great for all ages and appetites.

Our biggest treat is going to this café for breakfast when we visit Wrightsville beach. Be prepared to wait in line but it is well worth it. It has the traditional breakfast but has some interesting special items. Try to the crab omelet and the malted pancakes. You will not be disappointed!
