Local color

The food is good - especially for breakfast. Try a malted pancake. But the real attraction for the Causeway is the local color. Eat and listen to the conversations surrounding you. Enjoy tales of encounters involving fishing, boating, weather, local culture and, of course, politics. Prepare to... read more

This is the best place at the beach for a delicious and healthy breakfast or lunch. Fresh vegetables, fresh crab and a divine selection of omelettes and pancakes are some of the stars!

We love going to this restaurant for breakfast. Their crab meat omelet is great. We also love their sausage. Always busy, small dining and parking area. Well worth the wait!

Saturday morning crowds are pretty typical for breakfast but this place beats Mickey D's any day of the week. While we had to wait outside for a seat inside, the sunshine felt great and the wait was worth it. Sure it was crowded and noisy and funky but that is what a beach town breakfast is all about. If you... More

M&M pancaked. The GOOD BACON. Cheeseburgers. Waffles to die for. Eggs benedict.....with crab. This place is SLAMMED on weekends, and darn well worth the wait. It just doesn't get any better than causeway cafe. A MUST do.

Nothing could be finer than taking my 1/2 mile walk to the Causeway Café in the morning. The Causeway Café is located in picturesque Wrightsville Beach just over the drawbridge next to Redix. The atmosphere is casual setting the mood for a day at the beach. If you arrive early you should have no problem being seated next to locals... More

A bustling Monday morning crowd in a fun cafe. The Texas French toast was good with 3 slices of toast. The greek omlette was plentiful and good. The hash browns could have been done more and less salty. Biscuits were delicious. My only complaint is the maple syrup, low fructose but still not worthy of the food that it was... More

We purchased four Retail me Not gift certificates for this restaurant in January. We used one this summer without a problem. The food was fair, not great that day. We decided to give the restaurant another shot as any business can have an "off" day. Upon our return today, the cashier told us the owner no longer accepts these certificates.... More

I was visiting a friend who lives in the area and she recommended we have breakfast at the Causeway. Right off the bat, this has the warm welcome of a well established family business with loyal locals. The waitstaff was on the ball and professional. I ordered the blue crab omelet, one of the most popular. This was delicious, especially... More

After having a dismal charter fish, our group of 4 hungry men decided to go to the causeway cafe. One of the people in our group had eaten here before and told us we have to try it. Although it was 2 in the afternoon, we all ordered breakfast. 3 of us ordered the hungryman breakfast and one ordering the... More
