One of the best traditional breakfasts in town

I eat here only on an occasional basis just because it's not closer to my home-wish it was closer. You can't beat the breakfasts here, very good, very reasonably priced, and excellent service even when they are busy.

Dukes had some of the best pancakes ever! They were yummy, and it was a good portion size, and it was fresh. The waiter was very nice, as well. After I ate the food though, it made me feel like I needed to take a nap, because the food was so filling. I would totally recommend this restaurant to anyone.... More

Judging from my experience and the other reviews, it appears that the verdict is in: This is the best place ( at least in 2014) to eat breakfast in Winston-Salem. Casual atmosphere, reasonable prices, good friendly service and tastey food.

Dukes always has a full house for Saturday morning breakfast and no wonder. It is hard to beat the $6.20 special that includes two eggs, a pancake, grits, toast, choice of pig (bacon, sausage or my favorite, tenderloin) AND coffee. Service is always excellent. Food is consistent.

Have eaten here couple of times for lunch - hard to beat for the "meat & two". Ate breakfast here for first time yesterday - very popular place - especially on Sat. Food was good.....not great, as it didn't have much taste (very good coffee, though) Ordered breakfast "special" (eggs, meat (I had tenderloin) & potatoes......but waitress forgot my pancake!... I have been eating here for years. When I was younger, it was all about breakfast...as i grew into their lunch scene, it is all about their tenderloin and gravy. The best home-cooked menu in town. 10 thumbs up for this greek-owned masterpiece!
