New Years Day Lunch

Super breaded pork tenderloin, collards, and blackeyed peas! Restaurant was crowded so food took a little longer than we would have liked, but it was worth waiting for.

My favorite meal is the pancakes in the morning or any time of the day. A nice small country place to stop and enjoy a meal.

It's Fried Chicken Monday! So, of course, we headed for Wallburg Diner - "Home of the World's Famous Fried Chicken" - says so right there on the front of the menu! We ordered the Fried Chicken with Fried Okra, Potato Pancakes, & a Biscuit, as well as Roast Turkey with Dressing, Mashed Potatoes with gravy, "Monkey" Salad, and Hoecake. The fried... More

f you had a friend or relative who had never been to a true Southern mom & pop diner & you wanted to take them to one, this place could very well be you destination, and maybe should be. It had been open a little over 2 years, serving all 3 meals Mon - Fri, breakfast and lunch on Sat.... More

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have no complaints when dealing with a locally owned and operated restaurant. Oh yeah, the food is pretty good too.

Expected laid back country dining but it was not a pleasant experience at all. table was sticky and it felt more like a picnic with the plastic dinnerware and utensils.

Food is not bad. Hamburger steak had a good flavor. Marinated chicken was very juicy. Sweet potato bites were very plain, needed some cinnamon or something. The big issue is they use plastic plates and all silverware also. Do not care for plastic when I'm cutting meats. Probably wouldn't return for that reason. I can deal with plastic plate but... More

Great little diner with specials, usually 1 meat, 2 veggies, & drink. I particularly like the chicken pan pie (Wed) which is all chicken, no veggies in it , more on the Moravian chicken pie style, country style steak, fried chicken. Their squase casserole is the bomb, and the desserts are oh my gosh good, esp the chocolate lava cake... More

O.K. - It's not fancy, most of the food is ordinary, adequate, about like most of us throw together in our own kitchens. The staff is country; not professionally trained, but raw, down home friendly. No matter the time of day you won't feel rushed here. The Beef Stew with Rice, which isn't served everyday, is excellent. Perfect place for... More
