Hotdogs can prepared several ways. Good taste and fast service. I feel a little over price but closest hotdogs and best if you work downtown.

A friend recently opened a shop nearby and since it was lunchtime ,I decided to give Skippy's a try.I rarely eat hotdogs out, since I prefer them with kraut, and it is never available at other places that serve hot dogs, hence I normally indulge my occasional desire for a hot dog at home.I've made my last dog at home!... So, after reading all the glowing reviews, we had to try these pretzel dogs... and they lived up to the hype! Good quality, served hot, and very tasty. The fries probably would have as well had we skipped the chili/cheese option, which made them a bit too soggy. Tiny doesn't even begin to describe how small this place is, but... More

I have eaten a lot of hotdogs in my 60+ years but Skippy's is without a doubt the best one I have ever eaten. An all-beef wiener on a pretzel roll with mustard, chili, slaw, and raw onions was my choice, however, any number of toppings are available to finish your dog off in the style you prefer. The restaurant... More

First, I had a bacon cheese dog with mustard. This wasn't on the menu but they made it for me and it was very good. A little more snap to the hot dog casing would have made it better. More about Nathan's dogs below. We also ordered fries. My family and mom were with us because of a real connection... More

When you're in the mood for a satisfying hot dog lunch, this is the place to go in Winston-Salem. Great options all round, and one hot dog never seems to be enough. This is a small place and it can get really busy at lunchtime. Turnover is fast but would go early or late.

My wife and I visit Skippys quite often. Since we do not work in down town Winston, we usually come on Saturday. Everything they serve is on a pretzel bun and they have more than just dogs! If you want a old school soft pretzel, you need to order one (or 6)! And be sure to get the sweet mustard.... More

Skippy’s menu consists of all-beef hot dogs and various sandwiches, all on a pretzel roll, and hand-cut French fries. The fries are the best I have ever had: thin and crispy, only moderately greasy and salty, and served piping hot. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, and it was perfect: no fuss, just a generous helping of shredded, all-white meat... More

The best ever! Hot dogs are beyond superlatives. Fries are excellent. Service was efficient and welcoming despite a crush of customers lined up out the door. Wow! Will certainly be back for more.

This place is so good. The pretzel hot dog buns are perfect. They freshly cut French fries, the Dutch rootbeer, and the grilled hotdog with mustard is delicious!
