Skippy's is a one of the most popular lunch places in the beautiful downtown of Winston Salem. We are a very small place, so we get crowded quickly and at times, seats may be challenging to get. All food is cooked fresh to order so we ask that you be patient. You can be sure that the staff at Skippy's does their very best to ensure that you and yours have an enjoyable experience !

Best Hot Dog

They have ruined my life.... I can't eat a hot dog any place else. Their's is absolutely the best! Seating can sometimes be a little dicey but if you'll relax and be patient, seating will magically open up while you wait for your order. Be sure to order a basket of their hand cut fries to go... read more

This is the best hot dog you will ever put in your mouth. A large frank is split down the middle and laid in a beautiful soft pretzel bun. Heaven in your hands. Then in your stomach.....

I love Skippy's. I have loved them since they first opened in The Pavilions shopping center. Now that they are downtown I get there less frequently--but as a fluffy chick that is probably a good thing. I have never had anything but a hot dog all the way (mustard, slaw, chili, and onions) and a side of fries. I probably... More

As a Philly native, I was excited to try Skippy's soft pretzels especially after reading the good reviews on here. We arrived at 2:15 PM on a Saturday and they were OUT of pretzels! Since that is what we came for, we were quite disappointed. The woman behind the counter was friendly but nonchalant about it. So we ordered cheese... More

Skippy's is a small restaurant in downtown WS. All of their sandwiches and hot dogs are made on pretzel buns and they also sell the pretzels individually. If I had to rank my favorite restaurant in WS it would definitely be Skippys, their food is fantastic, hands down. However, I find it to be a little bit of a hassel... More

Every week, I look forward to a trip to downtown Winston-Salem for one of the most special meals I will enjoy all week. Skippy's Hot Dogs is my destination. I've never had a hot dog like it anywhere. Everything is done right. I always order the Reuben dog with freshly grilled sauerkraut, cheese, a good strong mustard. All on fresh... More

I love going to Skippy's. It is a nice change from the other "hot dog" places in W-S. I've only tried the dogs, and love the "Chicago Dog" because it's something different :) Go early if you want to sit and eat. Place fills up really quick !!
