A good Greek experience

We went to Athena for lunch. We are very familiar with Greek food and were excited to try this restaurant. I'll get the negative out of the way first. The chairs are awful. Very uncomfortable. We all agreed that our backsides hurt after our meal. The service could have been a little more attentive... read more

We all agreed that our backsides hurt after our meal. The service could have been a little more attentive especially because it wasn't busy. We... More

This place had really high reviews so I was expecting something out of this world. I got the pork souvlaki and the meat was pink in the middle. The tzatszki sauce was just mediocre. My son's spaghetti was yummy, first time I've ever seen him demolish a plate (he's 3). Significant other enjoyed the gyro plate, very much so that... More

My family went to Greece several years ago and we are hard to please now because of it. This place has lived up to our high standards. The gyro was much like Greek street food and the souvlaki was just like our favorite restaurant in a small town there. Everything was reasonably priced, food was great and service was very... More

I dunno, the food was good but not the earth-shaking experience some seem to think. The dinner was not a waste of time however I don't think I would go back. Actually I would have gone with Grecian Corner on the basis of better location; the only reason I didn't was because of their cash-only policy. It seemed less trouble... More

We got takeout from here. We got their large cold appetizer sampler and it was excellent. Very generous sizes, probably enough for six people. We also had moussaka and the lamb sausages. Everything was very good and would definitely recommend

We are regulars at Athena. A Greek friend of ours (who also run s a competing restaurant in town) highly recommended Athena to us and he was spot on. This is now one of our favorites and having just returned from a trip to Greece last fall, the food is a close as we have been able to find to... More

So much food that is so delicious. There is only one waitress so that kind of sucks. The atmosphere is ok. But I come here almost ever week for the food regardless...

Second visit for myself with friends and on both occasions we have found this restaurant to serve the best Greek food I've had although I've had many Greek meals in the UK and in Greece on holiday and none have matched this brilliant restaurant. Highly recommended

Exactly what I was hoping for! All the Greek favorites on a big menu, and it looked like some non-Greek stuff too, but who cares about that. Had 2 different Greek beers, and my sweetie had a couple glasses of a house red. Pretty good! The appetizer plate of Tzatziki, Hummus, Melitzanosalata, Taramosalata, Scordalia, Dolmathakia, Kalamata olives and pita bread... More

I visited the new Athena m it knowing what to expect. I found a clean restaurant with a good staff and good food. The pita choices are numerous and a good value. I had the gyro pita and it was flavorful and filling. The waitress was kind of scattered but she was probably new. I would definitely return.
