Very good and very crowded

Went on a Saturday night and had to wait quite awhile for a table. The good was excellent and the waitstaff was delightful.

Read all the reviews and eager to try this place. Service was friendly and accommodating. Appetizers were fair. Fried green tomatoes, okra and fried chicken livers. Big portions but similar to what you might get at a chain restaurant. Shrimp and Crab Pilau was really just fair at best. No great flavors and the shrimp were small and didn't taste... More

Service was very friendly and approachable. Drinks came quickly, appetizers soon thereafter. All the food from appetizers through to dessert was excellent.

This restaurant is outstanding and loved in our community. The two owners merge family recipes with southern charm to produce a menu that is prepared with love. They use the freshest ingredients and serve their dishes up with warmth and hospitality.

This well established eatery in the arts district is one of our favorites. They describe their cuisine as Southern food with a touch of soul, very apt. Service is prompt and friendly. The decor includes interesting paintings, and soothing jazz is always playing. Portions are generous, prices reasonable. One of my favorites is the Hamsome, a sweet potato biscuit with... More

My husband and I were visiting Winston and had read great reviews about Sweet Potatoes. And after our dinner there, I'm here to add another rave review to the mix! Cute place, bubbly atmosphere, awesome menu...and the food was incredible. We got the pimento cheese as an appetizer and it did not disappoint. I got the trout and my husband... More

While working in Winston Salem my colleagues and I visited this place on quite a few occasions. The food and drinks are really good. Try the Drunken Pork Chops if you eat pork, or the salmon. I had the catfish smothered with creole sauce that was good as well. If you ever get the chance to go and you love... More

Was considering dinner at Sweet Potatoes but was confirmed after both the hotel and cab driver recommended it. Small, cozy place, no reservations, small bar, amazing cocktail and entree prices for exceptional quality. The Collard Green Dip is AMAZING! As is the Catfish NOLA and the Gullah Shrimp and Crab Pilou. Everything was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount... More
