Village Tavern made a fantastic first impression for my out-of-town guests. Started out appetizers ... hot pimento cheese dip (delicious...fav of the teenagers), hot crab dip (always top-notch) and calamari (too rubbery -spicy or lemony sauce would be better). Entrees....petite filet (flavorful & grilled to our liking)-one with a side of their mushroom gravy (wonderful), shrimp scampi (tasty), & cheeseburger... More

The menu was extensive, and the desserts were great, with lots of options. The bar was friendly, and the drinks were fun. The staff was really friendly, and we were from out of town, so it was especially appreciated after our travels. We had a fun meal here.

This is the "original" Village Tavern, started here in Reynolda Gardens over three decades ago. It considers to offer a great menu in a cozy and comfortable location, with excellent management and wait staff. Recently had the salmon with veggies (outstanding collards, a good barometer of a southern restaurant), and wife had teriyaki chicken salad, both delicious. You can sit... More

My wife and I got to go away for a quick trip away from the kids. After spending the morning at the Reynaldo House and Gardens, we walked to this restaurant for lunch. We split a Ceasar salad to begin. No doubt, it was the best Ceasar I've ever had. The dressing on it was unique and absolutely delicious. Big... More

The food, the bar products, the ambiance and the service are all A STEP ABOVE! You can find fancier food, more expensive food, more pretentious service, but you won't find better food, fairer pricing, or more cordial service and atmosphere. In a listed historic facility, this is the original startup store for the Village Taverns all over the country. Their... More

Everything was good, the Bacon Wrapped Scallops, BBQ Ribs and Ribeye was awesome. Our server was very knowledgable of the menu and the area and was very helpful with each question we asked.

Just about every time I visit Winston-Salem, my family makes it a point of visiting the Village Tavern. We find the food great and the service friendly and fun. My experience this trip was no different, the staff went to great lengths to immediately accommodate our large party, our waitress was outstanding and catered to our every need. The food... More

Took elderly couple to dinner and both the waiter and manager were rude. Most uncomfortable dinner experience ever. Food was decent but will not be back.

Love to eat at the Village Tavern. The Tavern Salad is my favorite but all the food is good. The atmosphere is nice, great patio dining in a quaint village.

The food was fair and that's all I'm gonna say about that. I ate here about 6 months ago and thought it was good enough to come back. I ate here tonight and all I can say is whoever is managing this place must be completely checked out. Our waiter looked like walking death. He had body oder. He was... More
