Good bar food, bar atmosphere.

As the name indicates, this is a tavern, so yeah it is a little loud. But don't go if you want a quiet, intimate dinner experience. Went with family and friends to watch an NCAA game. When I originally made our dinner reservation, I was not advised that the Tavern itself is a small facility and that they sit customers at a "tent" adjacent to the restaurant. The tent is heated so no worries there, but it is a tent nevertheless....no charm, no ambience, a white tent with no character. Service was good. Nothing to cheer... More

We had traveled a considerable distance to shop in Winston-Salem and we were in the mood for something better than fast food for lunch. It was not our first visit to this restaurant, and going in we had a generally positive image of it. However, on this occasion the Village Tavern was just average. Arriving slightly before noon on a... More

This place is overpriced and loud. Did I mention loud? I am talking you cannot hear yourself talking at the table. I ordered the veggie burger and it was burnt to a crisp! My husband ordered the special, a chicken teriyaki sandwich that was so loaded with sauce he used the bread to rub the sauce off. Terrible experience! Will... More

From the minute we wandered in and got sassed (in a good way) by the hostess we knew it would be a fun lunch. It's a great big space with indoor and outdoor seating, we were attended by knowledgeable and attentive staff, had some great drinks and a delicious meal (I recommend the fish and chips) and it didn't break... I used to frequent Village Tavern and believe the food has improved. There is a "lunch card" at the bar if you work close by. There are several options for vegetarians. The fish tacos are delicious, the spaghetti squash dish has been up and down in preparation but quite juicy and good, the shrimp tacos with sweet thai chili are... More

Went to Village Tavern on Sunday and as usual the food was outstanding. Service was not as good as usual, not sure why but waiter just was not very attentive. This was definitely abnormal, everyone is usually extremely attentive. This did not impact the food however. We really enjoy the brunch menu. Looking forward to our next visit.

This Village Tavern, unlike its cousin across town, will hold a lot of people. And that's a good thing, because it serves some of the best food in town. I like the trout. with lots of vegetables. And I really like the key lime pie, which is the best around. They have an extensive menu, and the service is fine. What's... More

Restaurant staff was very friendly and food was fantastic. We have been to this location several times and have enjoyed it every time. Atmosphere is fun and lively and easy to get to. Good variety of food and drink choices. Crab dip is fantastic to start things off, and they have a great wine selection. Would highly recommend Village Tavern... More

Although we regularly frequent this area, we had never eaten at Village Tavern. It's located at a very busy intersection, but it doesn't stand out, so we had missed it. After seeing the reviews, we had to try it for ourselves. We've eaten here several times now and have had great experiences on each visit. We have asked for special... More
