Eastern NC BBQ, done right

Classic Eastern North Carolina BBQ, in a vinegar based sauce. It must be the 60+ years of practice. The sides, green beans, boiled potatoes and corn sticks were equal to the BBQ. I worked for the original owners Graham, Ralph Parker and Henry Brewer. (Established 1946) They taught me much about life and business while earning a good wage at an early age. I truly enjoyed my last visit to the BBQ Stand as they would call it. Let's keep the legacy going stop by and a little history and great food.

My husband and I both ate here and had the BBQ plate, they were delicious, the all male staff was enteratining to watch them keep up a fast pace and serve with a smile. Don't be scared off by the line, it moves quickly and the lot was full and the place was much larger then you think. For the... More

Barbecue is tasty with vinegar based sauce. Coleslaw yummy mustard based. Dinner comes with barbecue, cole slaw, brunswick stew and hush puppies or corn sticks. With drink, less than $8. All you can eat specials, too. Wait staff courteous and prompt. Service s fast! Not far off beaten path and worth the stop.

The bar-b-que sandwich with slaw is so tasty. This is my first pit stop when coming to Wilson. Love the casual atmosphere. My college age sons enjoy Family Style with bar-b-que, Brunswick stew, potatoes, slaw and hush puppies.

This place is fabulous especially if you don't like buffet style restaurants. Fried chicken is fabulous and crispy. It's fast and efficient. We always send some to relatives in Florida every year.

It's an OK place to dine, if you enjoy a laid back country setting. This location, when my family and I visited, had limited side/s choices. The barbecue is delicious, but everything else (the stuff that we had anyway) was OK, nothing special or mind blowing. We have lived in Wilson for over 2 years now, and have only been... More

Starting with the bottom line - The food was really good and the service was excellent. No frills here - just get in and eat some great BBQ with all the fixings. I'll definitely go back when I'm back through Wilson.

Used to eat there as a child.....50+years ago. If you want fried chicken (the only thing I ever ordered), brunswick stew, and corn 'sticks' this is THE place. Family friendly....no atmosphere except for the schoolboy wait staff. Fast, efficient, and fresh. It's a Wilson landmark and will be for another 50+ years.
