An excellent discovery in my own back yard!

We had a group of 10 (five couples) that met for the prix fixe dinner with the wine pairing. We had wonderful evening of food, wine, fun, and fellowship. The experience was laid back and the staff was very knowledgeable and willing to share background information on the food and wine. The... read more

nearly perfect fine dining A bit of a hike from the Triangle (55 minutes from the Crabtree area), but well worth it. This one is hard to categorize. The atmosphere and price is more along the lines of casual fare. But, the food is absolutely, over-the-top, more in-line with fine dining. And, especially compared with other places in the Wilson... Soco graciously fed our very large group, buffet style. The menu included pork bellies, fried Mac and cheese, grits, spicy shrimp, and tender braised beef. Dessert was chocolate truffles and beignets. The food was good. Was anything so outstanding, I would choose it again?- maybe the grits and the beignets. The chocolate truffles seemed sour tasting. I am not 100%... More

I want to start this review by saying that I have the unique opportunity to travel the country for work, and as such I eat out for roughly 90% of my meals. As a true foodie I have been blessed to experience some of the most highly regarded restaurants in the world - from the best steakhouses in Chicago to... More

We had the same menu tonight as the previous post and I do not think she was at the same place. The owners and staff are amazing as is the food. Tonight we had duck sausage, an amazing salad, turkey pot pie and lamb chops. All I can say is that I have eaten at places all around the world... More

If you like an adventure and enjoy ambience, then, by all means, go to SoCo. If you are looking for food worth the $50 prix fixe price, don't go. We started with a kale salad, which was nice except for that they had sprinkled some small, flavorless brown items over it that had to be pushed aside as they tasted... More

Nicole, We are very lucky to do what we do here on our farm, and our guests' enjoyment is paramount--both personally and professionally. I checked on the dining room several times the night you two dined with us, and had no idea you were so completely dissatisfied. Naturally, I was surprised when I read your review. I don't know if... We were visiting relatives who picked this restaurant. We looked it up-prix fixe, expensive, limited selection (how do you choose between venison stew and pork belly?), in the middle of cotton and tobacco fields outside Wilson. how could it be worth it? It is. This is one of the few restaurants where you should just surrender your decision-making and your... More

The restaurant is quite small, and the menu is Prix Fixe. Everyone gets same wonderful salad, choose between two appetizers, two main courses and two desserts. And the menu changes every couple of weeks. There were six of us and thus between us we had every menu item, and nobody had anything to complain about. The wine pairings with all... More

I have to say... nice first experience. Now, onto our discoveries of this very nice restaurant: Make sure you have reservations in advance (day or two), the parking lot is at the back of their home, there is a small bar area (building with an outdoor sitting area) that you can walk-in and sit at and wait for your table/reservation.... On a trip south, we made the slight detour to SOCO for dinner and to take advantage of their B&B....it was a huge amount of fun, the owners make you feel like family....the food is as good as some of New York's best....for foodies, this is definitely worth the effort!
