I am not a chef, but I imagine that this is where chefs go to be impressed. My wife and I went here for our 7th anniversary, even though it was an hour and a half away, as it was meant to be special: it did not disappoint and was well worth the drive! The owners of this farm--one who... read more

Ate at SoCo with great anticipation. Family of foodies looked forward to the farm to table approach. Had heard to expect "rustic" environs and was pleased yet still a bit surprised at how rustic. It seems that by now the proprietors may have stepped it up a notch to "finish" the dining barn while maintaining the atmosphere of "being on... More

We’ve been guests at several farm fresh dinners in rustic, interesting places. Such a venue has the potential to delight taste as well as the other senses. One, on Whidbey Island, WA, was the best meal ever. Another near Rochester, NY, allowed for tastings of 23 foods and flavors in an old barn. SoCo is not there yet and needs... More

Mr. Dawson, I appreciate that you gave us 4/5. But in reading your Wilson reviews, among others, I think you missed so much of the rich personality and nuances—not only of our farm—but of our city and county of Wilson. After your two-day visit to our city, on your 2300-mile road trip from your home in NY, you labeled Wilson... More

Based on the reviews, I thought this would be a wonderful experience. The country atmosphere was very nice, and we thought the rustic appearance inside was unusual and had some appeal. The service was very good, and we ordered from the set menu as they suggested, each of the four of us ordering different dishes. We found the appetizers quite... More

I appreciate your feedback, and like the handful of negative reviews we've received, we take them for what they are and let them stand. I remember your table, and I understand we are not the place for everyone, as everyone has their preferences. That is reasonable. You didn't like the bacon cheesecake, and I will take that into account. I... More

My husband and I went to SoCo on September 25 to celebrate our anniversary. The entire experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was relaxed enough to make you feel comfortable but upscale enough to make the evening feel special. The servers were great, friendly and attentive, but not hovering. We felt taken care of but not intruded on. The food was... More

This place is great. Farm to table style with an amazing chef. Food is full of flavor and the seating is great for large parties or simple couples meals. If you have not been it is a must!

We drove to Soco from Raleigh and it was so worth the drive! Everything about this place is fabulous! The food is incredible, service is friendly and welcoming, wine offerings (and the owner's knowledge of the wines and pairings) are exceptional, and the setting is one-of-a-kind.

Who would have thought to find fantastic fine-dining down a country road in Wilson, NC? It is hard not to gush about the quality of Chef Jeremy's cooking, the unique decor of the restaurant, or the attentive friendliness of the staff (led by Kimberly, Jeremy's charming wife). It's like eating at momma's . . . if momma was running a... More

After reading about and researching this farm to table restaurant for over a year I finally made plans to try it out. My husband and I chose the Friday night 6:00 pm seating and we made the trip to Slabtown Road. A bit off the beaten path but a beautiful drive. We were greeted upon our arrival and directed into... Go now! Late this year, they will no longer serve daily meals but will instead focus on ticketed special events and—— wait for it—— home delivery of their food! For now, experience lovely, four course dinners presented at 6p and 8p only. Wine pairings are wonderful and Kimberly is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about her wines. Her husband (and chef) Jeremy... More
