Bill's is one of those classic, must-eat-at places in NC. First of all, the buffet is HUGE! There are a lot of Southern/country foods to choose from, along with some yummy desserts (the banana pudding is a must!) All the food I tried was delicious, as always, and my Peruvian husband really enjoyed it too! The fried chicken, corn sticks,... More

I enjoyed the buffet at Bill's. The BBQ was really good (the hush puppies and veggies were great too). Not a lot to the atmosphere but you can't eat scenery...Overall it was good and I'd definitely go back.

We had lunch at Bill Ellis barbecue today. The buffet was very well stocked and a wide varety. We went for the barbecue and it was close to the best we have ever tasted, just the right level of spices. I thought that the pork bbq had just been pulled and chopped up straight from the pig. The BBQ had... More

The barbeque is good, as is the iced tea, hush puppies, and the boiled potatoes. The slaw I did not care for at all. If you go, go to the walk up, or rather walk in, as it is a little faster than the drive through.

They apparently sanitize EVERYTHING with clorox because everything you eat or drink seems to have that clorox taste. I have received a sweet tea and thought "man did they forget to rinse out the clorox before making this?" The fried chicken even tastes like clorox. I prefer Parker's BBQ on hwy. 301.

This is a buffet style BBQ of great BBQ per the NC style of flavor. No hot sauce of stuff, just plain slow cook BBQ. The buffet is what you would expect from E. NC BBQ with vegies, B Stew, ect. No service as this is a buffet style. Little on the high side, but then you can eat all... More

I love BBQ! I really do... I was in the Wilson area and stopped in because I had heard so many rave about this place. Bottom line up front: it failed to meet my expectations. The good is the price. For two people it was $24. The whole hog bbq wasn't bad, or the eastern style bbq. Dont let me... More

Bill's is a BBQ Buffet. If you want to pig out on traditional Eastern NC BBQ and the traditional sides, this is a good place to come. They also have a number of other meats (meat loaf, fried chicken, fish, etc.) and numerous vegetables on the buffet. But the real deal is either the BBQ or the whole hog to... More

We tried only a few items, but would have loved to have had more time to explore their extensive menu. The Brunswick stew was delicious and spicy and when combined with the hush puppies were more than enough for a dinner for two. The pulled pork plate was very good, but the cole slaw was different. It was almost pulverized and... More

Cafeteria style country food. BBQ is very good, fried chicken is excellent. Plenty of sides to choose from, and tons of desserts. Price is right, and you can get in/out as quickly or slowly as possible. Drive in is ALWAYS full, so plan ahead.
