Good Spot for Breakfast or Lunch

We recently ate at the Dixie Grill where we stopped in for a Bloody Mary as recommended by a friend. It was fairly crowded with people who we guessed to be locals. My husband had a club sandwich, and I had the fried green tomato BLT.We shared both items and thought they were good. The Bloody Marys... read more

We slid in at 8:30 on a Thursday morning, and by 9:30 the place was hopping. Glad we timed it well. Charming place with ample seating and nice wide walk areas. Food was very good. Server was attentive. Warning: The restrooms are treacherous and unventilated.

I ate there twice while on vacation in Wilmington. The food was good and the price was not too bad. I had a green tomato BLT the first time with sweet potato fries. It was ok. The second time I had the shrimp and grits and it was tasty. Nice little place with great service and good food at a... More

The Dixie had a great old diner feel to it and cooks up some very tasty food. Prices are good to value and will repeat visit when back in Wilmington!

The Dixie Grill is everything travelers look for in a local eatery. A very creative menu, excellent service, all tucked into an out-of-the-way historic building in the riverfront district of Wilmington, NC.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. When we went it was a Sunday at lunch so the place was VERY busy. The wait was long but the food was really good. I got the fried green tomato BLT. I wish they had more wait staff to help accommodate the number of people!

If you visit downtown Wilmington in the morning, you have to stop at dixie grill for breakfast. Yes, there may be a line out the door, but it's there for a reason. They have fantastic coffee, and a wide selection of breakfast items. I try and get what's on special, but sometimes it's hard to pass up the bacon egg... More

The Dixie Grill is a no-frills breakfast/lunch spot in Downtown Wilmington with killer classic southern food that hits the spot every time. The Shrimp & Grits and Biscuits & Gravy are the absolute greatest! The restaurant is older and has a retro feel. Service is average - there are good and mediocre servers, like most diners, but the food is... More

Took a friend who was in from out of town. It was a sweltering hot July 10 and we had been on the water tour and stopped at Dixie for lunch afterward. No visible clean tables, no one greeted us for almost five minutes. Finally, someone told us we could go to the back and sit down. Food was fine,... More
