Best so far!

Having lived in Mexico City for 16 years, I have had a hard time finding a reasonably good Mexican restaurant. This fits the bill best!

Fresh ingredients plus a fresh salsa bar for extra toppings. Friendly and prompt service. Order at the counter and your food is delivered to you in minutes. Burritos, tacos, for lunch. ceviche next time, heard it's really good.

This is the kind of place you expect to find in Mexico. Tongue tacos...what else can I say? Late afternoons/early evenings filled with guys just getting off work. It's no frills, but yummy!

A friend once turned me on to the exquisite pleasure of a good Cubano Torta, bowl of Posole and chorizo tacos (no lettuce, no cheese - just onions & cilantro). Since then, I have no interest in Americanized Mexican food. Los Portales is the real deal & the Horchata & salsa bar are the icing on the cake - Tres... More

Carne asada (steak) quesadillas or the tortas (sandwiches) are the way to go! Great authentic style food. Not a generic chips and salsa restaurant.

I found this place my last night in Wilmington and it was totally everything I was looking for in authentic Mexican food. Too bad it was my last night, I could have eaten here daily and been pleased. My only displeasure was the "to go" food containers were styrofoam. Once they get on the greener wagon, they should get 5... More

Very popular with the Mexican community around here and with god reason. Tacos asana are $1.75 a piece and delicious. There is a small condiment bar with fresh salsas, pico, cilantro, beans, cactus and so on. The torta sandwiches will easily feed two. This place rocks for a cheap casual lunch.

I moved to Wilmington from San Diego a few months ago and have been trying all of the mexican food in town to some disappointment. This place is rad! They make the closest thing to a San Diego style Carne Asada burrito as it gets. Its super good and HUGE. They even have coca cola here in a bottle! You... More

Los Portales is located at 1207 S Kerr Ave # B, in Wilmington, NC and serves affordable and authentic Mexican Food. This is a taqueria, NOT a traditional restuarant which means you have the option of dining in, but can also get it fast food style. These guys make authentic carne asada burrittos San Diego style; gaucamole, pico de gayo... More
