American Food At Its Best

Circa 1922 is a Downtown Wilmington, NC staple for cocktails at the long bar and an eclectic, carefully prepared American menu for serious diners. The ambience recalls some of America's oldest steak houses (eg. Sparks) yet you will be comfortable. Service is first rate.

We had dined at another establishment that didn't offer very many dessert selections. So, after perusing OpenTable, we decided to hit Circa 1922 for dessert. Wow. We couldn't be more impressed! The server pouring the coffee was quite amazing! Loved the "show". Then the desserts were impeccable and beautiful. Couldn't have asked for a better place! Can't wait to go... More

Beautiful interior, very private, and food was Devine! Perfect place for an intimate evening! Will definitely return to on my next visit to Wilmington. It was a nice stroll from our Bed and Breakfast.

Just had an excellent dinner here with three friends. I had the glazed pork, succulent, tender, can cut with a butter knife. Haricort verts, gratin potatoes, lamb shanks, haute cuisine mac 'n' cheese, paella. All excellent. Waitstaff was perfectly attentive, but not obtrusive. Am already planning my next visit. Ambience lovely, if a bit dark. Will have the salmon next... More

This restaurant can be very pricey but also very reasonable (if you dont order alot of appys or drinks). I have been here twice, and both times the food was very good, although the plate size isn't very large.

Wow , where to begin, I guess at the beginning.... I went to Circa for my birthday based on countless recommendations from locals. From using open table the reservation process was quick and painless. When we arrived I must say I may have been a bit concerned over the shear amount of people and wondered to myself if the staff... We've been to Circa 1922 four times since relocating to NC in April 2014; with other couples, our sons and fiancé (ages 27-29) and just the two of us. The service has been very good, the food selections interesting, prepared well (e.g., one of the few places we've found that doesn't overcook Salmon, we requested that) and delicious. When not... I visited this place with my father for the first time, and I know it won't be my last. The menu is pretty sizable and inventive--the calamari was a fantastic spicy starter to split. My steak was cooked perfectly, The real standout of the meal, however, was the bread pudding which we ordered at the recommendation of the waiter. I... More

The ambiance, decor, and mood in this restaurant is unique and fun. The bartenders are great and very friendly. The food is absolutely amazing. I did find it to be a little dark inside so it's great place to set the mood for a romantic date. I didn't pin it as a very family-oriented place. Also a great place to... More
