Great Food, Great View!

We had a great meal while sitting on the deck of the Pilot House watching the river flow by. I had the oyster basket and they were the best oysters I've ever had. The photo shows only half of the oysters that came in the basket. The delicious crab dip was delightfully different from the standard... read more

Sadly, this was my first trip to this restaurant in the 15 years I've lived in the area. My husband chose where to eat and we took our four year old son with us. We arrived at about six and were greeted by a hostess. She went to seat the couple ahead of us, and a server came through and... More

On a warm February afternoon, we five enjoyed a pleasant lunch out on the deck. The server was extremely helpful with recommendations and answering questions about the menu. Good food, combined with a mild, sunny day made this a very enjoyable lunch.

The restaurant is sure to amaze you. The dining rooms are elegant with white linens and candles at each table. The prices are pretty standard for seafood, and maybe a little cheaper when compared to traditional seafood prices. My server was wonderful and he was well informed of the menu. I got the catfish with collards and grits and it... More

The view is very good and so was the food. We stopped in for lunch and had no problems getting a place to sit. I had a fish sandwich and my wife and son had something that was not seafood. The service was very good and the pace of the meal was fine.

This comfortable, friendly restaurant is on the waterfront in downtown Wilmington. The staff is always friendly and efficient, even on Thanksgiving Day when we last were there. They offer a set menu but it includes most of the fixings with some choices. We had clam chowder, turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potato, collards, rolls, and pecan pie. The one notable thing... We made reservations for 6:00 and arrived a little early. We were seated immediately at a nice table for two one row away from the window with a nice view of the lighted river-walk and the Cape Fear river. I ordered a martini and hubs had a beer. The martini was very nice, can't remember the name of it. We... More

We went with a group and it was so cold we both got the bisque which was very nice, although there was not much crab. Some of the group got the crabcake and complained that there was more filler than crab. Service was slow but considering we were a group of 30+ not awful. I would go again for the... More

While in Wilmington on a day trip we had lunch here. A great location on the river with friendly staff. The Carolina Bisque was outstanding. We ordered the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich and the Crabcake with rice and both meals were very well presented and enjoyable. We look forward to returning.

Stopped at the pilot house after walking the river walk. Sat outside. The view was wonderful. Beautiful warm February day. The Carolina bisque was awesome. Only ordered a cup but after the first spoonful wished I would have ordered the bowl. Martinis (key lime) were excellent too. The hostess was especially friendly and our waiter was great too. A very... More
