We went on a Tuesday night. I had the chicken pasta and sweet tea. It was very very good, the most tender chicken I have ever had. We sat on the deck which is directly on the Cape fear river and boardwalk. Again, very nice. Indoors are several super nice dining rooms in an updated mid 1800s building. Wilmington, so... More

If you do not have a reservation expect to have a rude reception and no option really offered. Cannot tell you about the food or service Never got that far.

Had a great meal here with a friend. I had the salmon which was absolutely delicious. The waiter was really friendly and helpful. We ate outside and it was really hot but soon cooled down after the sun went down. I'd recommend to anyone in Wilmington.

My brother and I took our families to this seafood restaurant in downtown Wilmington on the water. There is a great selection of seafood, land food, and kids meals. We were practically immediately seated on a Sunday night. The waiter was friendly and attentive. WE were a large enough party to warrant the tax being included on the check. We... More

I got the baked grouper topped with oysters, my wife had the petit filet. Kids had fettuccine and hot dog. Waitress was real friendly and personable. Had dinner right at sunset from a table overlooking the river. Dinner experience was much better than what I was expecting.

Husband and I decided to head to Wilmington for the evening for dinner. We wanted something along the river with a great view! Food was excellent but the service was poor. Our waiter never told us about the special and seemed to be preoccupied with something else the whole time. It just appeared that he would of obviously rather been... More

Wonderful outside patio seating. Can watch the sunset from the dock. Bring bug spray for sunset. Good wine selection. Swanson (from CA) was a suprise. All meals were great. Had flounder, salmon, catch of the day and the meat (steak) special. Everyone was very pleased. Had the sorbet and bread pudding for dessert. Bread pudding made the top 3 ever... More

Our experience at The Pilot House was phenomenal from start to finish. We went around 5:00 before the dinner crowd began. The minute we walked in the staff members were very friendly and accommodating. We were able to pick our seat in the dining room. We picked a seat right by the window with a view of the river and... Being a native of Wilmington....I can take for granted great locations and places. However last week ate at Pilot house with family that came to town. First the LOCATION is awesome. Wonderful view of the NC Battleship, on the water, big windows, can eat outside if you want or in a fabulous dining room with air conditioner, big tables for... More
