Mw wife and I found this place while exploring the River Walk and are so happy we did. Great location,, very casual and pleasant atmosphere and the food was really excellent. Best of all was the superior services provided by our waiter Banks. Our very pleasant conversations with him enhanced the entire experience. We highly recommend this place. Bob &... More

My wife and I love the lamb chops at this restaurant. We also appreciate being greeted by Garth each time we come. I overheard him telling our server our drink preferences. Service like that is priceless. We are moving to the downtown area and will enjoy walking to this restaurant. The appetizers and bread pudding are awesome as well.

So many restaraunts were suggested to us in Wilmington and I'm certain you cant go wrong with most of them? The Pilot House was no exception! Great food and atmosphere overlooking the river was a wonderful end to our evening.

Best meal I've had in a long time! Started with Carolina Bisque which was outstanding: delicious flavor, not too spicy, plenty of seafood and not too thick or thin. The shrimp scampi was the best I've ever had with perfect seasonings, lots of shrimp and scallops served over flavorful linguine. My husband had steam pot which was very similar to... More

Seafood bisque was thick, creamy and full of seafood. Very good but missing the taste of promised sherry. Crab cakes were excellent with a slightly spicy remoulade. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here.

Wife's Birthday Dinner was a disaster: Ordered the Rack of Lamb, dinner came out with 3 chops, oversalted and overcooked. Desert was supposed to be served warm with ice cream, came out as cooled as the ice cream. Server did not seem to take the remarks to heart, it was like she did not want to be there.

Have gone to the pilot house for years....cute atmoshere inside, rustic old house on the Cape River...cobble stone streets outside. Other shops and restaurants next door and nearby. Our favorite thing is the Seafood Bisque....absolutely delicious...can't get enough of it, but don't worry, this bowl is packed with all the good stuff....clams, scallops, shrimp in a wonderful tasting, creamy broth....so... The food was excellent. My wife and I had shared a plate of some of the freshest oysters that we’d had in a very long time. The oysters are locally harvested, and were cleaned, shucked and plated by a true professional: They were wonderful. My wife had the Shrimp & Crab Corn Chowder, which she said was absolutely delicious, fresh... More
