Consistently outstanding

A reliable quaint hard to find but easy to park place in the Cotton Exchange. The veal holsteiner is fabulous as is the schnitzel. The wursts are always good. Decided to try on a whim and so glad I did. Went for dinner and got the wurst platter. The meats were perfect along with the mustard, best sauerkraut I have ever had and the German potato salad was super. Pickle as well on the side. All delicious, definitely recommend and look forward to coming back. My friends had lunch... More

love the German Cafe. Good food, atmosphere, service, and friendliness. This place has it all! Parking is free and convenient at the Cotton Exchange parking lot which is located right in the center of downtown shopping in beautiful Wilmington!

We've eaten here a few times. The lunch was pretty basic, but the dinners are truly German. The desserts are top notch too.

This is an incredible place to eat. I have never had a bad meal here and my wife and I make it a point to stop in every time we visit Wilmington. We'll plan our trip around it! The food is authentic and delicious and don't forget to take a strudel with you for the road!

This place has a great lunch special and the Kielbasi was outstanding, probably the best I've ever eaten. And be sure you make room for the deserts that are large portions and taste fantastic.

If you like German food this is the place for you. The meat and salads are fantastic. The bakery selection is also great. The music and the decorations is like old Germany. Last it is located in a great section of Wilmington and no hassel with parking.

My husband and I stumbled upon this Cotton Exchange restaurant while searching for a Saturday lunch spot without a wait. You enter through a small area, but the restaurant has several rooms. They are paneled in knotty pine and accessorized with beer steins and nutcrackers. The waitresses wear Germanesque attire. We had schnitzel sandwiches with German potato salad (good but... More

Holy smokes! I loved (and tasted) every single thing our very efficient and knowledgable waitress put on the table!! The Rouladen (which is a fork tender piece of roast beef wrapped around onions and a pickle spear and smothered in gravy) sounded odd but was AMAZING!! The pork schnitzel was equally good. The cherry strudel, napoleon, and triple chocolate cake... More
