Great seafood on the water

Excellent fried oysters and scallops, and delicious shrimp and grits. Dockside is indeed right on the water, and the atmosphere is casual. This is not a fancy place, but the seafood is excellent. Have been here several times over the years and it never disappoints.

Visited Dockside for lunch 1/25/2015. My daughter ordered the shrimp po'boy. The shrimp had some shell still on, it smelled extremely "fishy" and she took one bite and could not eat anymore. We sat outdoors and perhaps the moisture on the table caused it to drip from under the table all over my pants. The waitress offered me a napkin...LOL... More

This is a great place to go to grab a drink and relax and has a beautiful view of the marina. The staff is nice and very well kept. I am never disappointed when I come to Dockside!

To me, the Dockside, Fish House Grill, and Bluewater, all near each other on the ICW, have food that is OK but not very interesting (although each has its own quality, and each restaurant has a different feel). But in season (think months with an 'r' in their name) the Dockside has buckets of steamed oysters. And, from many tables,... More

A local staple x years. New owners and menu. Too pricey and no better food. If anything worse food. Good service and great location!

After an brisk walk on Wrightsville Beach on a bright sunny day in December - we planned to grab an early hamburger dinner at PT's ... but I had another idea. As the weather was good, let's try eating outside at Dockside. It had been on our 'no go list' for eating for at least a couple of years and... More

Decided to try Dockside for lunch! What a great decision! I had the pulled pork spring rolls for an appetizer. They were crispy and not to spicy! My wife had the blue crab and corn chowder, it was one of the best we've had! For the entree I had the Cactus Jack burger, pimiento cheese, fried tobacco onions, bacon, farm... More

Had dinner here tonight and whilst the food was OK , not sure why it's so popular, the place was filthy, upstairs has a fabulous view of the water and the boats, but the glass was so dirty you could barely see out !! Finger smudges galore, and the young girl waiting on couldn't wait to get rid of us... More

A group of four of stopped here for lunch on the way to Myrtle Beach. it's not a fancy place, just a rustic little restaurant on the river, which is what we like. I'll have to agree with other reviewers that the scallops need a lot of work, however the fried shrimp, while on the small side, are very tasty.... More

I had the broiled scallops. I’d cheffed professionally in NY, and I have to say that the scallops were excruciatingly bland. They were neither cooked nor prepared properly. There was not a hint of oil, butter or any type of seasoning; not even salt and pepper. There was no crust, no searing, no nothing. It was almost as if they’d... More
