Love this place

First time I had been back to Salt Works in about 15 years so my visit was as much about nostalgia as the food. It had not changed a bit. I had the lima bean soup and a hot dog, It was just as I remembered. This is a great place for the soup, dogs and burgers. It is not... read more

I went to Salt Works today for the first time yesterday with a friend. After we sat down at our table, I asked the waitress if I could order a hamburger cooked medium. She was not sure so she asked the owner who came over to personally ask how I would like it cooked. He simply explained that I could... More

Ate lunch here with a friend, will not go back. Very limited menu. Very cheap ingredients, I'm sure everything was from a can, nothing fresh for sure. All food and drinks are served on/in styrofoam. The soup was not even soupy, it was more like a thick cold paste. Was very disappointed. I will not return.

Eating at this cash-only, no frills, "hole-in-the-wall" takes you back in time to the good 'ole days....a juicy, fresh burger and fries served on wax paper in a basket. I've never left disappointed. I always see at least one of the owners there each time I go, and I think that says a lot.

We really enjoyed our breakfasts and especially the coffee (and we are from Seattle!). The staff are efficient and friendly and the food was good. I liked the potatoes, nice and crispy and not greasy. The bacon was super crisp, just how I like it. The prices were very reasonable. A good choice!

Breakfast was good, but there are many other breakfast restaurants in town that are much better. Compared to their competition I went with 3 stars because it was a decent breakfast at a fair price.

Four gentlemen met here Friday morning (11/7) for an early breakfast. Stephanie was our server and she was quite good. She took care of each of and our food orders. Coffee refills were plentiful and the food was good. I had the cheese & sausage omelette that was generous in size and good in taste. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Met my friend Don yesterday (Wednesday) for breakfast at 8am. The # 1 omelette was very good and quickly served. The customer service here is quite good, plentiful of refills if you need one. Servers were friendly with a smiling face. In addition, they did not chase you out if you linger for additional conversation.

The Original Salt Works on Oleander has a daily lunch special of a double cheeseburger, crinkle fries and a drink for $7.25 (includes tax). The burgers are hand-pattied and made from fresh, never-frozen 93% lean ground chuck. Cooked diner style on a flat top. They also use locally sourced produce like tomatoes and hand-chop their coleslaw. Hot dogs are also... More
