Great little spot with a rustic feel and great food. Omelettes are like big burrito size! Waffles are a hit! Make sure to bring cash as they don't accept card or check.

No credit/debit cards accepted --cash only, not a good thing b/c many ppl don't carry much cash anymore. I just happened to have extra cash, so we stayed. They should give discount for cash! They are only open for breakfast & lunch & have have a very limited lunch menu. It is an old bldg w/ no atmosphere & limited... More

It was always a standing tradition that no trip to Wrightsville Beach without a stop to get their great split top hotdogs with chile.

I don't know why I've never ventured into The Original Salt Works before, as I've been an area resident since the very early 1980s. I'm sorry it took me all these years to finally stop in! Oh my goodness, gracious: AWESOME is the only word. No, wait, there are more words/phrases: EXCELLENT FOOD, MELLOW, COZY, COMFORTING ATMOSPHERE, VERY AFFORDABLE PRICING,... More

First time I had been back to Salt Works in about 15 years so my visit was as much about nostalgia as the food. It had not changed a bit. I had the lima bean soup and a hot dog, It was just as I remembered. This is a great place for the soup, dogs and burgers. It is not... More

I went to Salt Works today for the first time yesterday with a friend. After we sat down at our table, I asked the waitress if I could order a hamburger cooked medium. She was not sure so she asked the owner who came over to personally ask how I would like it cooked. He simply explained that I could... More

Ate lunch here with a friend, will not go back. Very limited menu. Very cheap ingredients, I'm sure everything was from a can, nothing fresh for sure. All food and drinks are served on/in styrofoam. The soup was not even soupy, it was more like a thick cold paste. Was very disappointed. I will not return.
