Good food, pleasant surroundings

Our room was pleasantly decorated, as was the entire place, inside and out. Of all the entrees, the only one slightly disappointing was the tuna. It was not at all charred, but rather grey looking, and had no detectable seasoning on it at all. There were two sauces served on the side, but I... read more

Service..eh, asked if we wanted our salad before our entree. Kinda weird for this type of restaurant. The waitress asked if we wanted our salad before our entree. Huh? Had a Caesar salad and it was good and dressed well. I liked my entree, the shrimp and lobster grit cake. I usually doesn't like grit cakes. Hubby ordered the lump... More

We have dined at Havana's three time in the past month. The occasions were planned with different friends visiting Wilmington. Each time I returned I wanted the evening to overshadow our previously disappointments. Sad to say, I was wrong. The wait staff is missing the basic waiting skills which involve observation as well as listening. Each dining experience was cut... More

The decision factor on picking Havana's was because we thought they served whole lobster, but they don't. The atmosphere was really beautiful along with the decor. The staff along with who convey was the owner was incredibly friendly, engaging, and had a very inspiring attitude. The food we choose the salmon with rosoto and the super seafood fried combo. The... It was our last night in Wilmington and we were looking for a good restaurant which offered fresh fish and had a children's menu. The food was excellent and there were also specials and drink specials. They were helpful in making the dessert a surprise for 2 birthdays that were being celebrated.

The two of us couples had no prior knowledge of Havana's before choosing it for our dinner, but after we started eating, we knew we had made a great choice. I had the Cajun shrimp appetizer and Baja chicken salad; my wife had the clam chowder and Mediterranean salad. All the dishes were truly tasty, and my wife gave the... More

We dined at the Wrightsville Beach location on a Friday evening and wondered why there were not more patrons at 1830. It was prime rib night and the prime rib was tough. I had two bites and wife had one bite and it was sent back, along with the potato and the small ordered mushrooms which resembled canned slices. The... More

Very charming atmosphere but quite chilly inside. The waitress and hostesses were very friendly and efficient. Four of us had brunch with different entres. At best mediocre was the rating. The quiche was very bland and mostly egg and crust. The home fries were the best thing on all the plates. Would not return for brunch which is a shame... More

Decided at the last minute to try Prime Rib at Havana's. The meat was prepared superbly! It came with a baked potato and mixed veg. The potato was okay, the veg was lacking. But since we were there for the meat, no complaints! It was a Friday night, the crowd was sparse and so our service was great. It's getting... More

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I had read mixed reviews but our friends had been there and they thought it was good. I should have know that when we pulled into the parking lot around 6:30-7:00 on a Saturday night and there were only 4 other cars there to run the other way. We didn't thinking maybe... More
