The flounder was light and fresh, as the other fish was too according to friends. Everyone was pleased with the meal and especially the prices. Atmosphere casual but not fast food type casual. All ages of people with young couples, families, and seniors well represented. Would visit often if we lived in the area.

My wife and I went to the Boathouse based on the reviews. We ordered shrimp and flounder combination dinners. I was not familiar with Calabash style shrimp and would have preferred larger ones that had been butterflied and fried. However, the shrimp were sweet and had a nice breading and were not overcooked. The star of the combination was the... More

My husband and I always want seafood when we go to the beach but we always have a hard time finding a place that does it well without the high prices and the so so food. I have to admit that I was not really sure I would be happy since I am not a huge fan of Calabash but... More

Have friends that live in Wilmington and when I called to say that we were coming down for vacation and that we would like to have some seafood we were carried to the boathouse. We will be going back each time we go to Wilmington now. This was some of the best seafood (shrimp, oysters and flounder) I have every... More

We ate here as a party of 5 August 9. We had a short wait, maybe 20 minutes. Everyone at the table ordered seafood; my daughter had crab cakes and said they were very crabby (a good thing!); husband and I had fried combo plates of shrimp, flounder, oysters and clam strips. The shrimp, flounder and oysters were very good,... More

There was another place we came to around the corner but parking was nearly impossible. Glad we found Boathouse - turned out just fine. Seating was prompt. Food order was taken promptly and there was certainly enough choice for the kids who are always finicky about what they'd like to eat. Food arrived in less than 15 minutes and was... More

My wife and I read other reviews about this restaurant on TripAdvisor and were encouraged to give it a try. The atmosphere is family type. The service was friendly, attentive, and helpful. While you're deciding on food and drinks, they start you out on hush puppies. Be careful. You get enough hush puppies to fill you up. Prior to the... More

Looking for a nice, basic, and a family atmosphere, without the added cost of looking over the ocean OR riverfront in downtown Wilmington? THIS is the place. A great selection of fresh seafood and other entrees, along with a huge selection of vegetable sides - all at a fair price.
