Terrible Birthday Experience

I had been to Salt Works II on several occasions, usually with a friend who lives locally. The restaurant was clean, the wait staff was capable, and the food was average. Note that I made this referral in the past tense. Yesterday, my friend was taking me out for my birthday breakfast. We arrived... read more

This cute little place is more for locals than tourists. Mostly because it's off the beaten path. I love their corned beef hash. They make it in house. More beef, less potato. (My husband's fav hash is at White Front) Their breakfast sandwiches are good too. Saltworks has a good menu selection. We have had lunch here too but mostly... More

Visited Salt Works II. Service was average, servers had knowledge of menu and they did attend to the customer, however the wait staff did not engage much with the customers. Food Service I had a western olemet and it everything was fresh from the ham to the onion and peppers, Skimpy on the cheese and it was a two egg olemet... More

While visiting nearby, we stopped in for a nice home cooked breakfast. For a hometown diner, the food was above average but the service was excellent. The waiters, servers and the rest of the staff had upbeat personalities and were wearing their best smiles. We enjoyed our time there and appreciated the cleanliness of the quaint restaurant. Restaurants like this,... More

Be going here for years - Really enjoy the low key, good breakfast! Good to see the locals around daily, so something must be going well!

We dine at this restaurant when in town visiting family and children. Great breakfast and good Sunday lunch. Crab cakes are fresh made and the turkey and dressing are good anytime. We'll definitely continue to make this part of our visits.

Salt Works II had one of my favorite meals for the time I spent in Wilmington. I got the pulled pork sliders with french fries. While glancing at the menu I noticed the fried pickles. I had heard of them and figured I'd give them a shot. SO. GOOD. Hot and crispy on the outside but soft and salty on... More

My wife and I tried this place last week for breakfast and we will return. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was a very good "Traditional" breakfast. I had the sausage and cheese omelet with grits and toast and my wife tried the french toast with bacon. Both were very good. Our waitress was very prompt and... More

Some of the best breakfast places are literally holes in the walls so when it comes to breakfast I'm not quick to judge the appearance of a place. This restaurant looks fine, easy parking and different options for seating once you get in. Went on a Monday morning and it was busy but we were seated right away. I had... More

Had breakfast here Friday morning (8/24), what a pleasant surprise. The quality of the food was excellent: fresh scrambled eggs, smoked sausage and tomatoes. Well worth the price, refills available on a small mug of coffee. Has more room than original Salt Works on Oleander. Strongly Recommended!!!
