Excellent every time

We went to Big Thai last night for our third visit. My wife loves soft shell crab, and they serve the best in town. Pair it with their green curry and you've got a delicious dish. They always have great sounding specials. I tried the Bangkok Bay Seafood combo. There was soooo much seafood in it... read more

Very good food, nice restaurant. Relatively new owners have gotten the place in great, clean shape. The menu is standard thai food, love the larb gai and the tom yum soup. Noodle dishes are great too. We get take out frequently, and the food is always great when we get home.

New to the Wilmington area and love trying new restaurants. This one is a big disappointment. I ordered Pad Pik. All veggies had to have been nuked (you can tell by the washed out color and lack of any flavor.) The chicken was absolutely bone dry. It's sad really because we were the first customers of the day. She did... More

Dear Tewksbaby, Customer service is our priority and we reviewed your complaint with our staff. Your 1 star rating is atypical based on our customer feedback, we've had only one other 1 star rating 2-1/2 years ago. We do not microwave cook any of menu items, your Pad Pik vegetables were freshly stir fired over an open flame. High temp... More

My beloved wife and I have dined here on many occasions and the meals are consistently outstanding. I have enjoyed the Pad Thai and the curries and everything is always excellent. We have had most of the appetizers’ on the menu and each one has been outstanding. The service has been excellent each time we have visited; they truly are... More

We stumbled upon Big Thai kind of by accident, and now we are regulars. Probably our favorite restaurant in Wilmington. The food is fantastic, the service great, authentic and fresh. We love it! I could eat here every day. My hands down favorite is the Spicy Basil tofu and chicken dish. The flavors and freshness of the dishes are one... More

First off, I found the candle smell too overpowering when I entered the dining room area. Orders took too long to arrive (and that was with just ordering water and no appetizer to start). People around us looked just as annoyed as they waited endlessly for their food to arrive. When my Pad Thai finally appeared, it was just 'okay';... More

Sweet and Sour Chicken was OK, just a little too much fried batter and sauce for me. Others in party seemed to enjoy their meal .

Warm, welcoming staff. Great ambience. Today I got coconut soup with chicken and papaya salad. Food was very favorable and so good that I had to take extra papaya salad back home.

One of my very favorite in Wilmington. Anything on special board is a sure bet! Save room for coconut cake! Spring rolls, chicken satay, drunken noodles, and lunch chicken noodle bowl are all great menu items!

Paints took care of us as usual. This restaurant is consistent and reliable with its service and food. We have never had a bad experience at Big Thai II. Recommended for couples and/or friends. Also small groups (no more than 6). You can actually carry on a conversation at normal levels of voice.
