We have visited Double Happiness before but with a party of 6 tonight we just told Mae Chen, one of the owners, to just pick some dishes for us. We had the Dim Sum double steamer and lettuce wraps to start. Then we had four main courses all of which were great. Bee finished with coconut cake and green tea... More

I visited this place a couple of weeks ago for my birthday and I'm glad I did. We came with a group and ordered four dishes to share-Mongolian Beef, Crispy Honey Shrimp, Firecracker Chicken, and Hong Kong Noodles. Everything was excellent, but the Honey Shrimp and Firecracker chicken were definitely my favorites. I've been craving them ever since! Service was... More

Asian food critics are quite vocal. Can't really understand why since few have been to Asia. I haven't been either so guess I'm rating America-Sino food. Whatever one calls it I'm thinking this place does a very good job. On any given night there may be a miss but we haven't experienced it.

We gave this place a try for take out after reading the many good reviews. We ordered a shrimp and a sea scallop entree along with two spring rolls for a total of $43.- (not to shabby for Chinese take out!) after arriving at home we noticed that the sea scallops we paid for were actually bay scallops (which have... Double Happiness is one of the few authentically Chinese restaurants in town and I am thrilled to see a restaurant thriving in what was formerly a very "cursed" restaurant location. One of the most distinctive characteristics of DH is that they serve a variant of Chinese food that is heavily influenced by Indo-Malay cuisine. Beef Rendang: Oh my god. If... More

I was only here to grab some takeout but I was quite impressed. The restaurant is in an odd location (though just off US 117/College Ave) with a tiny parking lot but the space seemed nice. Food was delicious and the service was quite good. We had to wait a while for our order but they gave us free edamame... More

Everything served is delicious and composed of fresh ingredients. Among my favorite dishes are: the double steamer which two stacked trays containing about ten assorted succulent dumplings and shumai. The schezuan baby eggplant is fantastic and can be supplemented with your choice of beef, shrimp, pork or tofu. The crispy duck is just that crispy and delicious, it is served... More

Amazing service from the staff. So wonderful all around! Generous portions too. The menu is diverse, but the curries are a favorite.

I loved this restaurant! The food was the best Chinese I have had ( and I am a New Yorker). The service was great and I felt like family. Since it was Chinese New Year, the owner gave my daughter a lantern which was very appreciated. I was with my extended family and we all had a great time and... More
