This is the real deal Oyster Bar. Excellent all the way around. The menu is as basic as you can get: Oysters, Shrimp, Scallops, Crab Legs, Broccoli w/ cheese, beer, wine, soft drinks, tea, must be leaving something out.... No burgers... nothing else to eat. On a weekend night you may wait up to an hour, so get their early... More

It's a small place!! Hence get there early!!! But it's worth the wait!! Small menu and everything is steamed which is great as far as me.

The experience was absolutely amazing.. Jesse shucked my half peck of raw oysters right in front of me and we had a ball! Shady though, my credit card information was stolen and by the next morning over one hundred dollars of gas and Walmart was stacked on my out of state capital one. Bring CASH.

Food was excellent! Will go again. Well worth the distance I had to travel for the experience. A must stop by eatery.

Not just dining but an experience. Their menu is limited but what they do, they do great!! We had a peck of steamed oysters, a pound of stemaed shrimp and 1/2 a pound of steamed scallops. The best dipping sauce in the world.

Over a half-century ago, my gran-daddy and his pals sat on the handmade barstools situated on the floor scattered with wood-chips, watching skilled shuckers serve up delicious, just-steamed oysters. You can still get that experience today, it is an amazing, one of a kind place. They've added on a bit, improved the rest rooms, and offer mixed drinks and a... More

Very unique dining experience in this hidden gem in NC. They steam open raw oysters for you and pour them out one by one onto a small bowl. Scallops huge and fresh. Glad I stopped here!

This place is a real gem. The oyster shuckers make the experience fun and very entertaining. Matt was our shucker and he did an awesome job. The atmosphere is great! If you love oysters, crablegs, shrimp an scallops you really need to try Sunnyside!

Another visit to Sunny Side for my wife's birthday didn't disappoint... if you love steamed oysters (shrimp, scallops and crab legs too)... and you like a "hole in the wall" type of atmosphere... then this place is for you. Been around since 1935; best steamed oysters you will ever eat. Already trying to plan our next visit; and this place... More

This place is awesome. No menu, just pick between oysters, shrimp, crab, scallops. I ordered steamed oysters and crab legs- both were great but the best part is the environment. This restaurant has so much energy and it's a great local place. If I make it make to North Carolina- I will definitely stop here again!
