Fun experience, good food

Mr. Ira Price built a western town, and bands came to play. Build it and they will come, you might say. A dance hall and restaurant was added, in the old west style, serving up steaks and ribs. Deadwood is now much more for families, not for the band-crowd. The compound has a putt-putt golf... read more

Went here for lunch on Sunday. It ended up being packed. It is an out of the way place, but well worth finding. Food and atmosphere are great. Menu is not huge but has all of the basics.

Odd place for a decent restaurant -- seriously in the middle of no where. However, the food is way way, way above average. The appetizers were exceptional, especially the "Blastcaps" (battered, fried jalopeno slices). The steaks were tender, well-seasoned and well-cooked.BUT, they do not serve wine. At all. Iced tea, soda, beer and the silly Bud-arita mess. Until and unless... More

Friday night we ate at the Smokehouse Grill at Deadwood in Bear Grass; a small town near Williamston, NC.  It was definately a place where the locals go.  I would expect to find this place out west, not NC.  It was like an old west saloon/restaurant.  We shared fried green tomatoes, a marinated steak and baked potato.  I know that... Had a great time at Deadwood NC. We went on a Friday night for dinner and to enjoy the park. I ordered the ribeye and was easily one of the best steaks I have ever had. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla and enjoyed it. After dinner our son played on the playground and had lots of fun on the... More

Such a cute idea - a restaurant inside an old west style theme park. Pretty standard fare, but we only eat certain things on the menu, anyway. We enjoyed the salad, and steaks were good. We walked around the theme park after dinner and wished our children were still small!

Our family enjoys eating at Deadwood for a couple of reasons. Mainly, they have great food. A really good appetizer is the "Smokin' Onion" and their dipping sauce is really good, not too much horseradish like some other restaurant's serve. Their salad bar, although it appears small, has almost everything that I like: eggs, bacon, ham, bell peppers, green olives,... More
