I was driving on the nearby interstate and got off to eat breakfast here. The menu is much like a Big Boy or IHOP. Lots of good choices. There was plenty of good, fresh food at a very reasonable price. Service was great! I noticed a table of 8 old ladies. I got behind a couple of them at the... More

Once we got seated it took a while for our server to come get our drink orders. Come to think of it, I don't think our actual waitress even took our drink orders. Someone had to come ask us if anyone had taken our orders. After that, the service was good. Our waitress kept our drinks filled and checked up... More

Stopped by for a late dinner after running some errands. Plenty of parking for a slow Tuesday evening. Decor is rustic with tables in the center and wooden booths all around. Quite a list of specials were posted on the chalkboard, but we ordered off the menu. The sirloin tips with peppers and onions, ordered medium rare, was cooked perfectly.... More

Great fried oysters - quite busy and waited for a table about twenty minutes. Large horse show in town that weekend.

Was on my way to Emerald Isle, N.C. found the Hitchin Post by accident and I was glad we did. The service and the food was very good. It is a local place I think every state trooper and police officer stops there for lunch. Felt very safe. Not that the restaurant is in a crime area. From now on... More

We stopped here based on Trip Advisor reviews while on a family vacation on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The salad bar and hot buffet choices were delicious at a reasonable price, the service was friendly and attentive, and the facilities appeared to be clean.

Recently built in the western style, the building provides fun atmosphere and has a full bar. I highly recommend the shish-kabobs and their burgers are terrific. The locals know that Ms. Nina oversees the salad bar, which is always very fresh. This restaurant is very well maintained and is kept scrupulously Clean.

No frills establishment with a regular big ol' salad bar - no fancy stuff here - but tasty and filling. Ribeye was good, baked potato was just what the doctor didn't order but you wish he would have. Reminds me of a restaurant of days gone by when we didn't know haute cuisine. If you feel like re-living those days,... More

Very good food, friendly attentive staff. We had the buffet, although they did have a menu of other offerings. Buffet did not have a large selection, but everything we had was very good. Very cute western style building and decor. Everything was exceptionally neat and clean, even the ladies room! We plan on going back again.
