First Visit was a Good One

I have been past this restaurant many, many times but had never eaten there until tonight. The service and the food was great. The restaurant was very busy but we only waited about 10 minutes. Waitress kept a good check on us. Prices were reasonable. Buffet was good and was $11.99. I will return.

We were in transit to the Outer Banks and stopped in Williamston, NC. The Hitchin Post was close to the hotel and seemed very welcoming. It was a western looking place and we expected basic food. The salad was fresh and crisp with a little cheese sprinkled on top. Our meals arrived with a fresh baked roll on the plate... More

We were passing through on a long drive and noticed a very full parking lot. The rustic charm abounds. The menu was heavy on comfort foods but had something for everyone. The seafood options were great and could be prepared grilled, fried, or blackened. Lots of yummy sides. My husbands burger was fabulous. Both kids were very happy as well.... More

For 2.5 years I have been telling myself we needed to try this place while traveling from & to Edenton & Greenville, and finally, the timing was right. On our way home early enough in the evening that we would actually have time for dinner. This kinda out of the way restaurant is as rustic on the inside as it... More

Nice selection on the buffet. BBQ, fried chicken etc Service was excellent. Suggestion for the bread pudding. I like the big chunks of bread, however, I would suggest making them bone dry before you add the custard. It makes for a better mouth feel.

The desk girl at our hotel recommended this restaurant which met all our requirements. It was nearby and it was nearby. We were pretty tired. The name was a little scary, we didn't know quite what to expect, but it turned out to be very nice. All wood inside, it looked exactly like what The Hitching Post should look like.... More

I was driving on the nearby interstate and got off to eat breakfast here. The menu is much like a Big Boy or IHOP. Lots of good choices. There was plenty of good, fresh food at a very reasonable price. Service was great! I noticed a table of 8 old ladies. I got behind a couple of them at the... More

Once we got seated it took a while for our server to come get our drink orders. Come to think of it, I don't think our actual waitress even took our drink orders. Someone had to come ask us if anyone had taken our orders. After that, the service was good. Our waitress kept our drinks filled and checked up... More

Stopped by for a late dinner after running some errands. Plenty of parking for a slow Tuesday evening. Decor is rustic with tables in the center and wooden booths all around. Quite a list of specials were posted on the chalkboard, but we ordered off the menu. The sirloin tips with peppers and onions, ordered medium rare, was cooked perfectly.... More
