Good, but not great

My wife & & stopped here for a late lunch on a weekday. We both had sandwiches and we both thought they were good. Would visit again. Decor is a nice collection of old/antique radios, TVs, kitchen appliances & the like.

Stopped in for lunch while traveling from beach. Loved the old TVs, appliances, etc. on display. Found the sandwiches to be tasty and definitely filling. The desserts were very good and not overly sweet. The chef is from Thailand and France and the food is oriented to Europe. Would stop by again when we travel to the beach.

The decor and the menu set you up into thinking you're about to experience a wonderful, retro, throwback meal firmly set in the 60's. However, the sandwiches were bland, the chips were store-bought, and the pasta salad was school cafeteria quality. A big let-down was that they did not have a children's menu - we basically had to split adult... More

Have visited Sophie's 2 times and enjoyed the great food both times. The service does not match the food. I had to ask a waitress to take our order, ask for a to go box, ask for the check and never got a refill on drinks. I left a tip but am wondering why. This was between 12:30 and 1. Prime... More

Stopped for lunch on a drive from Charlotte to Wilmington, NC on 03/27/2015. Nice looking place, clean. Menu had some surprising offerings including espresso coffee and different desserts. Had a soup and sandwich combination (picture) that was very good. Service was slow and inattentive. I'd return for the food and be a little more aggressive to get my service. Espresso... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. We apologize for the issues you encountered, but you came in at the worst possible time in our history, as we had a difficult time with 3 of our employees leaving on maternity leave at the same time (there must have been something in the water!), and had... Tripadvisor led us to this local eatery and our sandwiches were delicious! I especially enjoyed the wolfpack sandwich with the spicy bacon and the macaroni salad had a dressing that was different and more delicious than any other I have tried. One of the owners greeted us personally and our server was excellent. There are sitting areas with couches, booths,... More

lacking as a restaurant. I was part of a large group, ~18, that stopped here on Saturday, 02/28/2015. We were on a day trip, exploring, & were looking for snacks & drinks. The service was good f/a large group but they were out of many things. I ordered a 'skinny' hot chocolate (made w/skim milk) = out of skim milk.... More

When it's time for lunch and people want to celebrate Sophie's is usually the place they want to go. You can get a really nice lunch for $8 and some people I eat with make lunch the next day out of the same meal since the portions are pretty large. If you are looking for a nice place for lunch... I love surprises and this was one. The building used to be an old pharmacy back many years ago, and it has one of the best dining settings I have ever been in. It is such a laid back old timey setting with the old Coca Cola decorations and 50's feel. And even more comforting is that it has a... More
