We have been eating here for about 6 years. The food quality is consistent. I always order barbecue (both beef and chicken are good), one of the slaws, Brunswick stew, hush puppies, and iced tea. I'm not a southerner by birth and did not grow up in the south, but I have eaten my share of barbecue since landing here... More

This is a fast food barbcue, stand in line to order. The food is average, nice portions. Friendly atmosphere.

We enjoy eating at here when we want a quick good meal. They serve "country" food and barbecue. You get plenty to eat and the tea is good. It is not fancy but a great choice for a hungry family without breaking the bank.

Four of us were here for dinner on a Wednesday evening. It was not crowded at all so we had the place to ourselves. The order process was a conveyer line in which I ordered my meal, sides and soft drink. The services was quick but the food was average(i.e. mediocre). My plate was full and I got what I... More

We have eaten here many times & the fried chicken cannot be beat! It is super moist, piping hot, & no fat (on the chicken that is; it IS fried). The sweet potato casserole is like dessert, the red slaw is so good that I often get 2 sides of it, the cooked apples are great, skip the green beans,... More

It's nothing fancy but these are probably the best places to get good down home cooking (what I call comfort food). You place your order cafeteria style.

This was our second visit to this wonderful NORTH CAROLINA restaurant. I've had the fried chicken and pork. My husband had the ribs. All delicious. The pork is my favorite and is always delicious and not fatty. The sweet potato casserole (side dish) is a must have. My husband enjoys the banana pudding and orders it without fail. The restaurant... More

Once again we stopped by while vacationing in West Jefferson. Another great meal! Owner was there making sure everyone was happy. Had to take some great desserts back to house with me..and yes I ate them all by myself! Be sure to pick up some Vannoy country ham for breakfast. Best country ham around. Thank you for another great meal

.....Given the old building and location. The BBQ is very average and a little on the mushy side, the side dishes taste very steam table. The service is always fine, but since many of the staff are very young, I suppose you could hit it wrong. When Pigs Fly is my preferred option by a mile, but many locals like... More
