Thank goodness for GPS. We ate here for father's day lunch and it was simply exquisite. We dine out a lot and frequent many upscale restaurants, but Dion's ranks in the top echelon. From the greeting to the desert the service was top notch. The flat bread appetizer was as good as you can find anywhere. Yes it is out... More

Dion's ALWAYS impresses me! The food is absolutely wonderful, service is great and sometimes Dion comes out of the kitchen and visits. Great personal service! Love taking our wine there since Davidson County is dry! :( Meatballs are to DIE for!

Last visit, food took forever and was cold. Waitress was new and inexperienced. Restaurant had not planned well and was hosting a party. Will not go back.

Locally, Chef Dion Sprenkle (the full name) is appreciated as a fine dining restaurant. My wife and I have eaten here several times, and the only disappointment we had was the lack of a wine list. Alas, Davidson is a dry county, and that's where Welcome sits. You can bring your own bottle(s) and pay a rather high corkage fee.... More

I never expected to find such a gourmet gem hidden in Welcome, NC. The restaurant is elegant, but still casual. Great for romance but children are appropriate as well. Maybe the best she-crab soup I've ever eaten. The crab cakes were wonderful as well. I will definitely be back to try more of this elegant yet grounded menu. We tried... More

Dion's in Welcome. Chef Dion -- just 20 minutes or so from Downtown WS -- has some of the most impressive culinary credentials in the Triad, including the kitchen of NY's much-heralded Gotham. His unpresumptious spot has become a regional dining destination and companies in the area are seeking him out for catering gigs. His new fall menu is diverse,... More

On our visit to Lexington, North Carolina in May this year, we heard about a new restaurant called Dions. The Chef was originally from the area but had trained in New York and had now come back to set up in his own region. It's in an out of the way place (thank goodness for Satnav) but I hear it... More

Was a recommendation from someone and when we pulled up it didn't look like much but we still gave it a try. The she crab soup was a tasty, rich and creamy with nice chunks of crab. There were three of us so we shared our meals so I can review all three...the tilapia was great, spaghetti with meatballs and... More

An upscale dining establishment just fifteen minutes from Winston Salem. The rib roast was perfectly succulent and the sea trout was deemed delicious. Interesting blend of veggies on a quinoa round. Also, the best grilled flatbread ever. Note: must bring your own bottle of wine and there is a decorking fee.
