I live local but only get time to go a few times a year and they never disappoint... Food and drink menu are both excellent!

Stoney Knob is a converted diner that, I believe, attempts to entertain with a kitschy, albeit slightly funky, decor. The center section (where you first enter) is the obvious reconverted diner. A heavy/neon yellow/gold lighted atmosphere with booths lining the walls is adorned with a cartoon poster of Wonder Woman behind the counter, nearby a mounted swordfish and some Greek... More

Wow what an amazing meal. If your visiting Asheville or live there or passing through. Don't miss Stoney Knob Cafe!!! I'm rarely amazed by a meal but this place was awesome. I had tuna and bride had eggplant. The presentation was worthy of 5 star downtown restaurants. Service was equally impressive. Don't miss this gem!

Was brought here by a friend, and to be honest I didn't know what to expect. The outside was a little strange, and the decor inside was even more eclectic. It was a Sunday when we stopped by so they had a brunch menu. I had the omelet with bacon, mushrooms and spinach and it was amazing. The ingredients were... More

Second time going to Stoney Knob. Both occasions were for anniversaries. It had been 2 years since our last visit and couldn't wait to go because the first time was awesome. I had the "The Best Freakin' Filet & Crab Mac N' Cheese You'll Ever Eat" and they were SO RIGHT! Incredible. My husband had Zorba The Greek. He was... More

My wife and I and another couple dined at Stoney Knob last week.... and as always... the service was impeccable... the menu exciting.... and the food exquisite.... I had the salmon filet with a pinot noir beurre rouge.. roasted brussels sprouts, pistachios, onions, sundried cranberries and bacon.... superb.....

We love Stoney Knob! We brought some friends from Hendersonville and they loved it too. The decor is interesting and fun. My favorite is the good girl pasta -- awesome! My husband had the crab cakes--yummy! Our friends had short ribs, and salmon. Everything is fresh and good, and our server, Melissa, was excellent. They were out of our favorite... More

This place is a real trip. The decor is eclectic and eccentric; I am sorry I didn't take photos. Whoever decorated it has a vivid and charming imagination. The food is excellent. Though they profess to have "cuisine from near and far," I would suggest they lean toward Greek. Nonetheless, I had amazing ravioli in a creamed sun dried tomato... More

Sometimes a restaurant meal is more than a dining experience. Such was our experience at Stoney Knob Cafe. Last Saturday, I joined 24 family and friends for lunch proceeding the funeral of a beloved family member. When I made reservations, I had asked for a quiet place for us to gather explaining that we would be under a time constraint... More
