Pleasant Dining Experience

The dinner art Stoney Knob Cafe was outstanding. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the Mediterrnean platter. The dishes were delectable and the service was outstanding. The decor was unique.

Yeah, the food here deserves four or five stars. It's fantastic. But is it worth it? You can find food just as good somewhere else for half the price, because, honestly, Stoney Knob is expensive only because they _can_ be expensive. They know enough people love it to where they can charge as much as they want and no one... More

I spent the weekend with my cousin in the mountains around Marrs Hill and she took us to Stoney Knob restaurant on Friday nite. She made reservations because she said it gets busy. We got there and was greeted and sat down right away. Our waitress was very corgial and told us about all of there nightly specials. The food choices... More

I am a carnivore, but I always get the vegetarian dish that has a potato pancake, tomato, and mushroom with a great sauce over it. Super dishM. Not inexpensive, but worth it for a special occasion!

And it is not even in Asheville. Think of the best food, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Then put yourself in the funkiest restaurant you can conger. Top it off with really reasonable prices. That is Stoney Knob. During our August stay in Asheville we ate there three times. Breakfasts were really tasty. We has the House omelette with great grits,... More

Cool little place with an interesting mix of decor styles, kind of like you walked into the house of a roman, christian, hippie, mystic who was once an Egyptian pharaoh. The food was exceptionally tasty and the originality of he dishes was refreshing. Our dining room was a bit warm and in need of a little more air conditioning but... More

We recently ate at Stoney Knob Cafe for probably about the 10th time. Every visit has been consistently good. The 3 dining rooms are each funky in their own decor! We had a booth this time in the main room which allowed us to watch 2 chefs. Both my husband and son got their favorite - the Greek platter with... More

Stoney Knob was referred to us by Eve at the Hawk and Ivy B&B. She insisted we try the place during our stay. We were delighted with the food which was innovative and delicious! The short ribs melted in my mouth along with the Parmesean grits! Everyone in our party had delicious meals. We will definitely come here again on... More

Atmosphere was spoiled by loud repetitive brumbeat music. There is great music in Asheville but not on their canned music track. The volume may partially explain the need to ask the waitress for everything twice. Though swearing to never return l turned around several miles down the road to question a 33%+ overcharge. The generous manager gave me an extra... More

Eclectic menu that has something for everyone. (Decor too) Every dish is done well. Sunday has a " brunch" menu with their own creative spin from crepes to Benedict. Lunch and dinner.
