Walked up main street in Weaverville to choose a restaurant for dinner. Read about this place in our B-N-B's info and decided to try it. What a welcome and interesting place for a comfortable evening meal. Small facilities but attentive staff and excellent food. The entire evening was a surprise experience. Each of us tried something different and decided to... More

It is nice to be back in Weaverville! I have had lots of family and friends escaping the Florida heat and Glass Onion is our go to place for a great meal. We have been 3 times in the last few weeks and it was perfect on each visit. Our friends and family think its one of the best places... More

We were visiting on a trip to the Biltmore for a long weekend. We tried the three meat fettuccini and the veggie lasagna. The food was ok-- not bad, but not good either. The bread the waitress brought to the table was soaked in butter and garlic and was hard. Speaking of the waitress she wasn't good at all. The... More

The owners used to work in restaurants in the Hamptons and their pedigree shows. The food is quite good, the servers are friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere is pleasant and prices are a little high. We ate dinner recently (our first visit) and shared a nice heirloom tomato salad, a special that day (one quibble -- I don't like it... More

Very good food. Happily accomodated vegan with beet salad, greens with polenta and grilled veggies. Others in party had pasta with pancetta and scottish salmon with spinach, along with Caesar Salads. I would be happy to eat here again.

My wife and I wanted to check out the towns near Asheville and came across this restaurant in Weaverville, NC. We were surprised to see an Italian restaurant in this small town. I'm in the restaurant business and really seek out good places to eat whenever I travel. We had a great lunch and the service was very good. I... More

We toured the Blue Ridge Parkway and descended into Weaverville. Very cute town. We looked for a place to eat outside with our dogs. Stumbled on the Glass Onion and wow. Bolananse with wild boar, shrimp over Angel hair. Wonderful garlic rolls. Really was a great find. If you stop there try it, you'll like it.

Let me start by saying that I work at a local nonprofit, and we have an annual dining event where participating restaurants donate a portion of proceeds from a meal or meals to support our work. In this area, dozens of restaurants participated, and Glass Onion was one of the most generous participants. I decided to dine with them while... More

I saw this restuarant as I was riding around the town of Weaverville. So, I called and got a reservation and was I pleasantly surprised! I ordered one of the evenings special which was yellow fin tuna. It was absolutely divine. I will definitely go back when I am in the area. Highly recommend the Glass Onion.
