Have been here many times. Live in TN and often eat here when passing through to NC. Onion dishes are awesome. Service was not very good this time. Server not attentive to our needs and not interested in correcting an error that was made. If service is not better next time will eat somewhere else.

We dined in this restaurant on our recent trip to Waynesville and were very happy with our selection. There was a wait of about 25 minutes at all the better restaurants in the downtown area and we chose to remain at this one. The wait staff was very friendly even though the restaurant was crowded. I selected pan fried mountain... More

This was our last night in NC and we went southern all the way -- chicken-fried steak (what the menu calls "country fried) and chicken with a blackberry-flavored barbecue sauce. The main courses, and the sides, were fabulous -- we cleaned our plates. Friendly wait staff, and a decent selection of beers made it a great place for our last... More

The only negative on The Sweet Onion is that we could only enjoy it once on our vacation. The 2nd time we wanted to go it was just too long of a wait for us....but that's a good sign. The menu is very varied and my wife and I both found several options. We tried the crab cakes appetizer, the... More

Six of us dined here and everyone was very satisfied. Country fried steak, BBQ, grilled chicken and great sides. Service was great also, we'll be back.

Great food! Probably the best chicken salad sandwich I have ever eaten. The atmosphere was great. My husband had a blt that was excellent. Both sandwiches were huge.

this was the best place for trout... I love that fish... can not find it anywhere expect here.. for 13.95 it was a bit of small plate.. I wish I could have had the entire fish. I got a half portion of the trout... with a honey lemon butter sauce very delicious... a bit pricy place... well, dinners now going... More
