This should be removed from Tripadvisor. It is no longer in business. Disregard my comments below . It was just a way for me to get this posted to save everyone a trip,

Had dinner there with friends. We went away the overall impression that the meal was overpriced. My wife's fish was dry and overdone. My steak was good but unremarkable. We like the atmosphere there and the service, while polite, was somewhat unprofessional. There are now several better options in Waynesville.

We were attracted to the inn by the description of "fine dining" and pictures of a warm, cozy dining room. The ambiance was all we expected, but the food was at best average. They ran out of salad--didn't even try to offer anything else--how can a restaurant run out of salad?!? We were there last Friday, but had an entirely... More

On a recent Friday night my wife and I had an occasion to visit the Old Stone Inn Mountain Lodge and Restaurant. We went at the suggestion of dear friends who live in Waynesville, NC. While the restaurant was crowded, we had a reservation and were seated immediately. This got us off to an excellent start. There was a fire... More

This restaurant has changed hands a couple of times since I've lived here and I have heard some poor reviews. But when I've been there both with husband and friends, we've had a fantastic experience. If you go when it's cold outside, they have a roaring fire going. Very romantic. Since this is also an Inn, you can peek into... More

Every restaurant can have a bad night. In over 6 years we have always had fabulous enjoyable meals. Our favorite over the years had been the fresh trout but on the most recent visit, the trout was cold when served and the accompanying vegetable sides were not up to par. We will give them another chance next month.

I recently ate at the Old Stone Inn dining room and what an experience!!! We arrived and I was immediately impressed by the atmosphere. It is absolutely unique and beautiful! The stone room with the wood beams and a fireplace at the end made it cozy yet upscale. As nice as the restaurant was inside, we chose to dine outside... More

Can't find anything bad to say about the Old Stone Inn, a hidden gem indeed! Have had dinner twice, and both times all aspects of the experience were far above average. Great atmosphere, attentive service and wonderful food - what else can you ask for in a dining experience?! Price is reasonable, too. We skipped appetizers, and were glad we... More
