Very relaxed atmosphere ! I have been here a couple of times and enjoyed both. The first time was for a friend's birthday and we all brought in snack and finger foods to share. The second was to see a band play on my birthday. Both times it has been a great experience and I really enjoyed their Cider. This... More

I'm a local. I frequent this brewery the most. The beer is always consistent and delicious. They always have a lot of great brews on tap.

A kind of out of the way brewery. The beer is excellent, probably my favorite of the locally brewed beer in Waynesville but it's so tucked away I rarely remember to go here. The atmosphere is laid back which is great and dog friendly. Sometimes I am annoyed by people who allow their dogs to just roam around places though... More

This is now called BEARWATERS BREWERY. It is located a quarter mile or less behind the Sagebrush Steak Restaurant in a small industrial/warehouse area. Besides the remarkably excellent home brewed beer this place place is a rarity for allowing you to bring your pet inside on a leash while enjoying some cold brew. No food is served here so eat... Great local brews and enjoy the laid-back environment. There are bands usually on weekends that are def interesting. The red beer is my fav while my husband enjoys the heftier ones.

As an IPA lover I am pretty critical of beers. They have 2 pretty good ones here, but they aren't quite where they need to be. They lack the great aroma of a truly great IPA. This microbrewery has the 2nd best IPAs in town. The Pale ale here is a better pale ale than their IPAs are IPAs. I... More

Dog friendly and the kind of place you just want to hang out at, Bearwaters is one of the places my husband and I go to have a beer with friends. They have a few snacks (pretzels, hot dogs) if you're really hungry but they also don't care if you bring your own food. We recently celebrated my birthday there,... More

As others have noted, Headwaters is now Bearwaters. Which I actually think is a cooler name. Either way, great bar, great atmosphere and seriously great beer. I've never had a microbrew stout as good as a macro. Which is weird, since micro anything usually beats macro. But Bearwaters broke the streak. Their stout is as good as any brewed anywhere.... More

This place is a little hard to find but definitely worth the search. They have some light snack (hot dogs etc) but you can bring your own food wit you. They are dog friendly too :) The Delta Blonde is a must try!

We've stopped in several times for the hefeweisen and were very pleasantly surprised with it. Better than the wheat beer at the other local places and other in Sylva. The beer soaked hotdogs (and brats) and pretzels were outstanding as is their hot mustard that goes with the pretzels - will clear your sinuses out nicely. Nice folks.
